I cannot afford to host the APs anymore. You must find your own hosting. You might try archive.org, or a service like Google Drive, or pay for hosting like Libsyn or some other webhost.
You can use the Community AP site to post about your APs and link to them, so everyone has a centralized location to find the episodes.

Tried, can't post. I think you (as admin likely) would have to upgrade me to have posting powers. I'm going by the same username there.
EDIT: Yeah, looks like default account generation just has power to post (albeit posts still need approval). Do you know if you can associate the blog with existing Wordpress accounts (I think you would have to invite)? I'm guessing not since I literally signed up with the exact same things as one I had before (and would have expected some kickback about duplication)...

Yeah, if you ask for a blog, it gives you a separate page in addition to "access" to the RPPR Community one (at least that has been my past experience with Wordpress). If we need to make a new account though, I wonder if I can delete my old one...
I'm going to look around and see what's what.
EDIT: Yeah, the account you created (at least it is for me) is already associated with the main site, so unless Ross was planning for everyone to create their own individual blogs to post stuff on, I think we signed up the way intended (where we could write up a description and post on the site)...

That's my guess. I know when I did something similar a few years ago, we had to go in and individually give privileges to members associated with it (i.e. they can post comments, they can write articles, they can edit articles, they can publish articles, etc.). As I remember, Wordpress actually works very well with multiple authors, all with different privileges as people can write articles, but not publish them, allowing an admin or moderator or some such character check them and then publish if everything is okay.

As an author (I'm assuming that's what I am), I can write, edit, and publish my own posts. If you are somewhat unsure of ranks (I'm not sure how familiar you are with Wordpress, so let me know if my attempts at aid are useless), about a third of the way down you can find a summary of the powers here (http://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities).
However, I can't create categories to organize my post under. On a side note, I saw Tadanori editing my post, so I'm assuming as an editor that's working out...
EDIT: I can also delete my own posts, the one I wrote is currently in the trash should you care to look at it (it was kind of useless, simply a test which is why I deleted it).

Yeah, I only have the option of uploading 10mb total and only 2mb at a time. I don't know what your intentions are, but that is my situation.

EDIT: On a sidenote, what timezone do you have it set on? It looked a bit odd to me as it is 8 hours off (from me). I thought I could get things changed on my end, but it appears not. Anyway, no big deal, just seems to be set to GMT.

So, Ross, once this is up and running how will it work? You talked about it in the the first post but are the aps going to be be managed for quality/content through the community or by moderators or by something else?

I'm guessing someone here knows the answer to this. What exactly are laws and rules governing use of pre-published/"others' stuff" in these recordings. I ask because I used a map I grabbed from WotC's archive on their website and have thus also used the names of the countries/areas on it for convenience's sake. I also will be using a module from the 4E book Dungeon Delve in my first session. Would I be able to still post the recording/do I need to specifically credit WotC? I ask only because I know certain things like copyrighted music is a no-go generally.

I don't allow copyrighted music because that would technically be pirating music.
Talking about copyrighted material is entirely different. You're not reading the entire text and posting a recording of it, just quoting it in the context of a game. I am not a lawyer but I would bet money that game recordings of published games would fall under fair use.
So just don't quote lengthy verbatim quotes from the books (i.e. more than a page) and you'll be fine. Since no one will be see the map you're using, it's fine.
I do think it's a good idea to credit the work you're using though in the show notes.
AP episodes are great marketing for RPGs so I wouldn't worry about it. WOTC knows this too - after all they sponsored the PA/PVP D&D AP podcast.

Alright, have to do some work on it (cutting out where we got food, splicing the two halves together, and the like). Not too sure on the file transferring, but with Google and the internet by my side, I'm sure I can figure it out. Hopefully it will be up and out sometime this weekend. (Oh, and sidenote, it wasn't too great as it was a first session of a new campaign and very much a kick in the door, kill the monsters, grab the loot scenario for this first one)

FTP isn't that hard. Just take some time to look through the file locations before uploading so you don't send anything to the wrong place.

So you mentioned compressing, did you want it compressed before it was uploaded? If so is there a specific way I should do it (if you just point me in a direction I can figure it out). Also, is there a specific picture you want associated with the Community APs?

So, figured out how to upload, started, but it looks like it's going to take about 2 hours, so I'm not sure if I'm doing it right...
EDIT: So I think this is because I'm sending from school, but my upload speed quickly falls off and keeps stalling. I'm going to try and upload from a friend's house at some point, but otherwise I don't know if I'm doing something wrong (as I don't know how long it should take for about a 100mb file, or if I should compress it more somehow as I compressed it when I made the mp3 and put it in a zip file).

What about recording published modules? I use a good bit of the Goodman Games and other non-WOTC modules in D&D and other games. Would there be an issue with podcasting one of those?

I just checked and saw a few files that had failed to upload from me, so I deleted them, hopefully it didn't screw things up. I also tried to download the other file (2007 PCA - ACA Zombie Panel.mp3), but ran into troubles with the spaces. I don't know if it just because I'm trying to do it through the terminal and don't know the right formatting or what...

Of course, since the FTP info is public, some jackass could delete it. Soo, someone listen to it and make sure its audible and all that good shit then I can transfer it to a protected directory and Mckma can post it.

You should be able to upload to the same place I did. There wasn't anything special that I had over anyone else (I don't think). Just used the information earlier in the page. On a related note, will have a third session/potentially a session of the sample adventure of MaOCT from the core book this evening.

You need to either get an FTP program, or do it on the command prompt, or probably find a website that can do it. I found Filezilla, which works really well and is free. Just download it, enter the information Ross mentioned previously (last page I think). Then you will connect and you should be able to just drag and drop/copy paste the file from your computer to the server.

The players are 3rd level and we had a new player joining the group, so we spend a good bit of time in the beginning with character introductions and campaign backstory. Normally our group is 5 people, but we have had a little attrition and are just adding some extras. One of our players ended up having to work late, so we only have 3 for this session. He is a waiter and Morris Day sat down at his table about an hour before he was to get off. Morris was dropping a good bit of money, so he didn't want to leave such a good tip to go play DnD. I guess we will hear how good a tipper Morris was next week.
We have a tendency to stray from the game frequently and think we are a lot funnier than we are, so apologies in advance. It is about 4 hours long and my first attempt at recording.

I would think almost any common obscenity would be fine ( up to and including frog snatch ). Anything "mean-spirited" or degrading should be prohibited. I think most of the posters here have a very open viewpoint to "R-rated" language. But, as in anything internet related, the anonymity lets people behave in a manner that they would not in other public places.

I just finished "Recording" my second session. We got to a break point about 3 hours in and I went to pause the recording only to find that it had not been recording. Very sad. Missed a couple of cool things happening. Like the ranger/rogue sneaking around and crit sneak attacking an 11 year old drugged beggar girl who was dressed up to be the beggar king. And then one of the dragon-born fighters falling into a 30 feet pit trap that ends in a cage suspended over a river and the same ranger/rogue leaping down to land on the cage to help free him.
I guess I need to face the recorder to me next time, or at least make sure it is recording. Got the last hour and half anyway. Everyone was pretty upset about not getting the first part recorded, they are liking the podcast idea. We were much more on task tonight and a got through a lot of encounters at a pretty fast pace. I will try to post the partial tomorrow. We will be able to finish the adventure next time.
Ross, I did not see a way to post the episodes ( but not sure what I may be missing ). I loaded burbrry into my wordpress site and it works fine, but I don't see any of the options available on http://community.roleplayingpublicradio.com .

Something I thought I would share if you (like myself) have multiple sessions recorded and would like to do the write up and not worry about releasing. On the publishing dealio on the right, click on the scheduling menu to schedule the publishing for a later date. After finishing up, you can hit Schedule on the bottom (as opposed to the normal Publish), and it will sit completed until the scheduled time before publishing. I don't know if people were already aware of this, but hey, if not now they are.
This came up as I remembered this as I was writing up the post for the next session of my game. Hopefully I'll get something up about weekly on Sundays. Unless of course I get lots of angry comments about how much people hate them...

If you don't mind, you can subscribe to the blog feed and it will download the mp3s. I know this works with iTunes and I'm pretty sure it works with Zune software, don't know about other programs though.

Will do. I downloaded the FireFTP add-on as per Patrick's suggestion, and it works beautifully. I managed to log onto the server and download the file that Kroack signed off on, so it shouldn't be too much trouble to upload something once I have it in the proper format. I guess for now, I'll just listen to the Storm of War game and give my OK on it, if only so that I can feel productive. :-/
I recorded a session of an original CoC scenario tonight using my girlfriend's laptop and Audacity. The recording turned out beautifully, but the game didn't go as well as I had hoped. Maybe it was because my players are all new to CoC investigative / mystery games, and maybe it's because I'm new to running them, but they forced an endgame two hours into what I had planned as a five or six hour-long game, and all but one ended up getting killed. I'll probably upload it to the server as soon as I can convert it into an MP3 from whatever format Audacity uses. My players had enough fun with it that they wanted to play again, so I'm going to make some adjustments to the scenario and give them another crack at it next week. I'm also going to have to go back and listen to Episode 41 again between now and then. I get the feeling that there are quite a few things that Tom and Ross discussed that I missed.

It's all good. I used to use Krystal to record with, but after glancing at Audacity, I may download it.

I use audacity on linux. All I have done so far is use the compressor on the default setting and compress the mp3 down to 64kbps. It seems powerful and runs fast on my machine. I removed a couple of minutes of a recording and it was effortless. But I have done nothing complicated. I will advise to work on a copy of the file so you always have the original available in case of an accident.
And best of all it is free!

I posted the 2nd session of Storm of War - Sellswords of Punjar. Actually, it is not session 2, but just session 2.5. I did not properly turn on the recorder for the first part of the session. I tried to provide a written recap of the events that are missing, but some funny stuff is lost forever. We actually stayed on track for the whole session this time and got through a lot of encounters. Hope you enjoy.
I am probably going to be able to post the conclusion of this adventure next week and hopefully a Dread session that I am running also.

After much gnashing of teeth and swearing at my G5's stinking silicon guts, I have (finally!) uploaded an AP to the server!
It's called RPPR-CP-CoC-Ars_Serpentis_PT1.mp3.
In the first third of the recording, the audio will sometimes fuzz out for half a second every now and again, but other than that, it's pretty clean as far as I can tell.
Anyway, lemme know if it's up to standards, and, if not, what I can do to fix it next time.

If your levels are going over like that, you may want to set your recorder to a lower gain. You can always raise the levels if they're a little low, but if they go over, there's really not much that can be done. On the little meter thingy, you wanna shoot for -12 dB to -6 dB.

Listening to it now (distracted at work from finishing) and while the levels are a little high at times, nothing that makes me want to stop listening to it. I've certainly heard worse, and the golem madness more than makes up for it :)

You can cancel out some of the sudden loud noises by using Levelator to put everything at about the same levels. If that's too loud just cut the dB like above.

also I haven't switched from the generic template because Wordpress MU works differently than normal wordpress so I think I have to find a wordpress MU specific template. The only ones I've found so far are from premium wordpress template sites which charge soooo

Well, technique-wise it's pretty obvious, just show the summary of the session. To put in the break, there is a button on the toolbar, 4th from right on the visual layout, third from right on html. Basically it says more, or something like that. Just put it in on a separate line and it puts everything above on the front and everything else on the full when you click on it...

I'm pretty excited, I think I'm going to run the first Call of Cthulhu session that I have actually written, probably next week. If I do, I'll be recording it, so I would really appreciate any input I could get when I post it. It's actually based on a scenario that one of my friends came up with focused around music...

Oh, no, the story is focused around classical music. Basically my friend saw that a lot of important historical composers died horrible deaths and the scenario works from there.

You can use creative commons music, so long as you acknowledge the artist in a way that says they didn't give you permission.
There is some good stuff out there but you will have to hunt for it.

I just uploaded part 1 of the last Sellswords of Punjar session to the ftp site. It was 5 1/2 hours so I split it into 2 parts. I will upload the other part probably tomorrow.

I've got a recording from a game I ran this week. I was with friends over spring break, so we handn't really talked too much lately. As a result there were a couple random tangents towards the beginning and middle that probably last 20-30 minutes maybe. I'll upload it and see what y'all think and whether I should edit it or not. But I would like to get some feedback on the actual game as it was the first Call of Cthulhu game that I actually wrote.

A comprehensive guide would be really handy for this. I have a ridiculous recording of me running Maid RPG for the first time that I would like to share. I'll probably have another one this Thursday as well (or maybe InSpectres... whatever, something easy to run), in addition to the next campaign my friend Daniel is going to start of his homebrew, Nyra, within the next few weeks.

Hey all! I haven't been around much lately--the fan on my graphics card died, and it took some time for me to get it replaced. However, I have recorded a few gaming sessions since I've been away. I'm uploading one now, as I type this. The file is called RPPR-CP-Mage-CotD_Finale.mp3, and it is the last episode of a nearly two year-long OWoD Mage chronicle that I just wrapped up.
Also, thanks to ristarr and Mckma for the feedback on and positive review of the Ars Serpentis playtest. I haven't gotten a chance to run a second playthrough, but I've been hard at work at revising the scenario to incorporate what I learned from the first play test.

These sessions are the beginning of Open Design's Hall of the Mountain King super-adventure. It spans level 8 - 12 and is very well done ( written that is, not GM'ed ). It will take us a lot of sessions to get through it as we are not the most focused group in the world.

I bought an Alesis Palm Trak recorder last Friday (just in time to record my first ever session of CoC), but I returned it because of it's overall "cheap" feeling (all plastic, mushy buttons, just didn't "feel" like a quality product), however, it made excellent recordings. Nevertheless, I ended up going big and buying the Olympus LS-10 PCM Digital Recorder based on several excellent user reviews.
Kind of pricey (paid nearly three hundred bills for the damn thing), but the build quality is nothing short of amazing. This thing is a tank! All aluminum construction, two stereo microphones and 2 GB of built in memory. I've got high hopes for this baby! Gonna record my next CoC session!

Take the raw MP3 file and tag it (I'll put something up about tagging later). After it has been tagged, upload it using an ftp program. I use FileZilla, and the screenshots are from it (though most seem to look the same, so they should be good enough to carry over).

Type in the connection information at the top and connect. Then double click a file and it will transfer (either to RPPR if it was on the left, or from RPPR if it was on the right).
The file is now on the server, post here to let Ross know it is up and he'll move it over.
Go to http://community.roleplayingpublicradio.com/ and either create an account (by registering) or log in. If you register an account, be sure to let Ross know so he can make you an author (otherwise you can't make posts). After you log in click on Site Admin on the right, you will land here:

On the left you can add new posts. On the right you can look at any recent drafts you saved (if you didn't finish). Add a new post and then it takes you here:

Pretty self-explanatory, type your title, text body, and put in a break if you want (if the post is long). If you have several posts and want to spread them out, you can schedule a time on the right and it will automatically post it (as long as you are sure to click Schedule, which will replace Publish if you set a time).
To add the MP3 (after Ross has moved it), scroll down to the Blubrry box, which looks like this:

Type in the filename (http://community.roleplayingpublicradio.com/filename.mp3, leave the settings like this, and click verify, the data should be extracted from the mp3 (check to make sure it is correct). That's it.

Currently I can only write, publish and edit my own posts. As a bare minimum to just organize I would at least need to be able to edit others' posts. However the more privileges I have with the site, the easier it will be to clean things up and organize. So basically whatever stuff you feel comfortable giving me, I can probably work things out.
So according to Wordpress's default roles, I would at least need to be an Editor, but if you would like me to do any cosmetic changes (such as adding widgets, changing basic page layout, which hopefully I would community feedback on were I to make such changes), I would need Admin privileges.

Tonight I recorded the introductory session of a Monsters and Other Childish Things: Candlewick Manor game. I blatantly stole a lot from Ben Baugh's game with Ross, et al., from GenCon, with more of a thrust toward presenting the corpse in the larder as the hook to a mystery. It went pretty well, and all three of my players expressed interest in continuing the scenario, so depending on how the sound quality on the recording came out, I'll probably upload it in the next couple of days.

Currently I can only write, publish and edit my own posts. As a bare minimum to just organize I would at least need to be able to edit others' posts. However the more privileges I have with the site, the easier it will be to clean things up and organize. So basically whatever stuff you feel comfortable giving me, I can probably work things out.
So according to Wordpress's default roles, I would at least need to be an Editor, but if you would like me to do any cosmetic changes (such as adding widgets, changing basic page layout, which hopefully I would community feedback on were I to make such changes), I would need Admin privileges.

Did some of the real basic outlining work on the site (i.e. moved all posts under proper game systems, at least I think so). Is there anything specific people would be interested in seeing on the site as far as formatting? I was also planning on doing some write ups of FAQs/Intros (i.e. "So you want to share your own gaming?"), so if that is something that people think would be helpful, I can start those and feel free to PM/post questions about recording/posting if you are unsure (or things you couldn't figure out at the beginning)...

Yeah, I think tags will be great, but I'm not really sure what to tag. The main thing I think will be campaign titles (such as mine and ristarr's), and I guess any genre type things (superpowers, heist, war, etc), as well as any resources used (such as The Dreadful Secret of Candlewick Manor)...

That sounds like a good list of things to tag. It'll certainly make it much easier for people to sort through the backlog of posts to find the games they'd like to hear. I'll try to keep those tagging criteria in mind when I write my next post. We're supposed to get together on Friday night to finish up the Candlewick story, so I should have something new for the site by the weekend. Hopefully, there'll be enough interest after the first games that my players will want me to continue with it.

I added that yesterday or the day before. Right now it's at the bottom because I wasn't sure if that was something that people wanted, but if it is something that people are interested in, I'll look at moving it around...

I've done pretty much everything that can be done before diving into actually coding things (if that's possible on this version of wordpress) or uploading various themes or tools. What do people think, especially as relates to the tags (top right)? I'm not really sure how well they represent things, at the moment I feel pretty confident that they include the name of the campaign (if you want to look at all the games from one campaign), as well as listing 1-3 important "themes" or "aspects" of the session for each session. Depending on what other games get added and how they are tagged, we can go back and remove some tags that don't get multiple tags.
I think next I'll write up some comprehensive "everything you need to know to record a session and upload it" guides (at least one for Mac and one for Windows), and then either put them up on a page there or in this thread or another thread (and like it from the Community AP Site).
Any suggestions for stuff to add or change? Also is there anything that might be helpful to add in a guide? I'm not sure what issues other people might have, so I might make assumptions that don't cover people's issues, but those can get added in with feedback whenever...

I like this idea. The easiest way to do this would probably have someone take a picture of a bunch of them scattered (and I think it would look the best), unfortunately I don't have enough to be able to volunteer that. The other option would be to just take stock images of covers and collage them, which wouldn't look nearly as good. Suggestions for books/systems:
DnD (obviously): PHB and DMG have cool covers, don't really think MM would be necessary
Call of Cthulhu
Savage Worlds
Eclipse Phase
^All have more than one game on the site.
Mutants and Masterminds
Monsters and Other Childish things

Ooooh. Fiasco's in there, too. I just bought the PDF from Indie Press Revolution, and read the entire book in two hours. It looks pretty sweet--so sweet, in fact, that I think I might host a session tomorrow night. Should make for a hilarious recording.

There are a lot, I try to take care of them every few days or so. The settings do a good job though as people can post additional comments once they are approved once so there's only a delay on the first one...
EDIT: Wow, there were more than I thought, and most of them aren't even trying anymore...

Okay, I am going to finish up and put together a more comprehensive tutorial on recording, encoding, tagging, and posting (and any other random little bits). I've been meaning to do so, but get distracted and forget. A few questions I have:
1. (Most interested in this) What media players do y'all use on your computers/do you know most of your acquaintances use? I want to be able to show how to tag in most of the major media players, but I'm not sure what people use. At the moment I plan on iTunes, Windows Media Player, and Zune, but I'm sure there are others that people use.
2. Is there anything you don't know how to do/think would be especially funky? I'm going to look for the best free/cheap ways to record Skype games and will put up that, but I don't know if there was anything else people were interested in...

Uploading Wushu Rock Band Zombie Apocalypse in a bit (wushuzombies.mp3). Currently removing dead air and checking volume levels because someone put their phone right up against the mic while it was blasting Ballroom Blitz about 2 hours in.
Edit -- Thinking back on it, I hope that the occasional music clip in there isn't going to make this unpostable. I mean, I wouldn't think so because it's at totally shit quality while we're talking over it (unless it's a zero-tolerance sorta thing).

Alright, uploading Session 1 of my Monsters Road Trip game (RPPR-CP-MaOCT-RoadTrip1). Found out while listening that one of my players likes to hit the table and play with his dice when he's not talking, though it doesn't mess up the recording too bad. Additionally, I found out that this microphone is more unidirectional than I thought, so I'll need to remember to do mic checks in the future.

I uploaded two more sessions of the Storm of War and got two in the ftp queue. Sorry for not posting more regularly. Session 11 includes the use of the Dread Jenga tower as a mechanic to simulate a sabotaged steam boiler that is about to explode, unless the PCs can stop the saboteur and fix the boiler before the tower collapses. The PCs must pull a block before the start of each turn. And when the tower collapses, it is really loud although it is far from the Zoom.

I see 4 files there. I see them in the / directory, not in /upload. I don't remember if I used to see /upload or if it showed up as just / when logged in as rpprupload. Thanks, I still have to make posts for the last two sessions. They can really pile up. I put up some pics from the session with the Dread-Jenga tower. You can kinda see the model of the ship I made. We had one player's son playing with us for a couple of sessions, so we did clean up the language and discussions a bit. But we seemed to keep the blood, guts and violence ( he is a big WoW player ).

I like what you did with [spoiler]Samhain as the basis for a mythos occurrence. By the way: I'ma be "that guy" for a second and tell you that it's pronounced like "sow-in". I love using real world mythology and tying it into the mythos like that, though. I thought you did a good job there. Also, I like how you handled the results of occult roles - i.e. the yellow sign = negative energy according to celtic mythology. I thought that was clever.[/spoiler]
Edit: The only thing I wasn't a fan of was that at a few points you seemed to be telling the players how their characters felt in a given situation. I like what you did with [spoiler]Samhain as the basis for a mythos occurrence. By the way: I'ma be "that guy" for a second and tell you that it's pronounced like "sow-in". I love using real world mythology and tying it into the mythos like that, though. I thought you did a good job there. Also, I like how you handled the results of occult roles - i.e. the yellow sign = negative energy according to celtic mythology. I thought that was clever.[/spoiler]

Well, I was trying to show a bit more of the sanity loss coming forward - no one in the group has ever played the system before, so I was trying to show some of the effects of san loss. I probably did go a bit too far with a couple of those touches.
As for the signs, [spoiler]wait until they run into clockwise spirals. ;D [/spoiler]
We (hopefully) will be playing again on Sunday. We'll see how well I can finish this up. I think, depending on how many players show up, we might finish this week or go two more sessions. We'll have to see. Thank you for the feedback!

Quick question. I know there is a 'no copyrighted music' policy - I understand and agree with it, it's your web hosting and I have no desire to get you in any kind of trouble after being so kind to let us use it.
What is the feeling on using tracks of remixed copyrighted music from someplace like OCRemix.org? Is that different because it's been changed by someone else, or is that still a no-go?

In Engine Heart (http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Engine_Heart), you play maintenance robots in a post-human world. For one reason or another, all of the humans, big tanks, combat cyborgs are gone. The maintenance robots still continue their duty, though, because that's their programming.
tl;dr: WALL-E the RPG. I think Engine Heart was actually created before WALL-E, though.

I do hope that A) this question isn't out of place and B) this hasn't already been answered. I did a search but couldn't find a solution.
Is there any way to load the feed for the Community AP into Google Listen (or some other such podcast app for Android)? I'm not sure if I just missed the feed link, or if it's not possible. I can't download the individual AP's from my phone very well just off the website, and would love to be able to listen to them without having to DL them on my comp at home then transfer them here.

Maybe? I don't know. I think the idea may have originated with RPPR somewhere (the idea of being on a cruise ship that is). In fact, I'm pretty sure it did and I ran with it. It was originally intended to be an introduction to AFMBE for my main group so that I could run a more ambitious game based on the college campus. That hasn't happened yet and I wanted to run something quick and easy over winter break for two of my other friends, so I pulled this from memory...

Welp, I just managed to dig through my pile o' recordings and found the missing 57 sound files from my group's first campaign, so y'all should be in for
an ear-bleeding racket a real treat. Good old-fashioned D&D 3.5 in an E6 game. My group thought I lost them, since they were recorded back in 2008. ;D

Oh yeah, there are some really enjoyable games, I just wish I had time to listen to and follow them all (I've unfortunately had to set aside the extended campaigns until summer). Really want to listen to Road Trip and Masks, but I don't quite have the time to get all caught up and whatnot. Luckily there are a lot of really enjoyable one shots or 2-3 session games that I can get through...
EDIT: If I get around to getting things a little be more "uniform" or straightened out this weekend on it, do people mind if I make a few formatting changes to titles/tags/categories?

Update on Progress 1: I think I've standardized categories and redid the menu system (check it out, I think it's pretty nice). Let me know if you have suggestions on anything else.
I'm trying to figure out what we should do about tags. I'm thinking that they may actually be useful for interesting/common element, so some that I'm thinking about are, Campaign Titles, One-Shot, PC Death, Insanity, PvP. There will probably be more, but if you know of some of your games where some of these would apply, feel free to update your posts whenever.

Hmm...
Another possible question/issue: Did you register a new account, or log in with an existing Wordpress? I think that I had similar problems in the past where I had to register a new account.
If this doesn't clear it up, I'll have much more time in a day or two to take a look at it. I don't know what Ross's schedule is like though if he knows what's up or wants to give it a shot...

I just looked into the new user settings - apparently I have to manually shift users over due to technical reasons (the community site is a wordpress multi site etc)
anyway I added a plugin that will add new users as contributors so they can make posts. I trust you guys can watch the site to make sure we don't get trolled or anything.

This actually should work fine as contributors can only write posts (not publish), so it will keep spam from going up, and at the same time allow people to start writing the post before they've been made an author (if it takes a while).
P.S. Mike, you should be able to write and publish now...

Did a test run - I was able to create the write-up and link to the audio file, so everything is working there. However, I had an ampersand (&) in the file name. Duh. File would not play from the published page. Should I re-upload the file with a new name, or can someone there change the name to, say, RPPR-CP-Tunnels-n-Trolls-Thieves-House.mp3. Sorry for the bother - I'm happy either way, just let me know.

I was using net2ftp which is a web client, I haven't used any FTP programs in years and I'm at work so I didn't want to load one but if that's the issue I'll have to try it on lunch =P

Ok sorry it took so long, I finally got the Camp Death AP ( CampFirewater(1).mp3 ) uploaded but it's not as good quality as the original file, so if anyone wants the better copy let me know and I can share it on google docs, I don't have an actual computer and my work computer restrictions won't allow an FTP client that will upload the original file so I had to cut the quality a bit to get it to upload.

These are both their own systems. The Ghostbusters game uses the Ghostbuster International rules from West End Games published in 1989. Privateers and Gentlemen uses the original rules for Privateers and Gentlemen from Fantasy Games Unlimited, which was originally published in 1983 but is still available as a pdf (I think).
I write reviews for Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine and like to try a game out before I review it, so I draft some of my friends and get them to play the games I run. Once Ross gets back from China, I'll be sending in audio for Ringworld, 2300 AD, Aliens, Behind Enemy Lines, Bureau 13, Expendables, Megatraveller, Metamorphosis Alpha, Paranoia, Star Frontiers, Stormbringer, Time Lord, Top Secret, Bughunters, Traveller New Era, and Weird Wars (the original d20 version). These will all be one-shots. I also have a couple of Delta Green sessions (Puppet Shows and Shadow Plays) and am presently running a Call of Cthulhu campaign that I have audio for. That latter has had two sessions of Edge of Darkness and (so far) two sessions of an adaption of Silent Hill II to Call of Cthulhu.
There are also a few Call of Cthulhu convention games I've run. They might find their way here eventually (unless I've so driven Ross crazy with uploads that he bans me by then).
I'm hoping to upload about once a week.

Must be my computer then. When I verfied the file listing in the dashboard, it noted that some characters might cause problems with some clients (the & symbol I'm guessing). When I upload the next one, I'll be more careful with the name.

This wasn't my most well run session (I initially thought two hours would be plenty of time, but the scenario really needs at least three hours). But, the players had a blast and are totally hooked, and they want MOAR. So I will probably run a campaign soon.
I know the file won't get moved for awhile; I just wanted to get it uploaded while it was fresh on my mind. :)

This was a frustrating session. I had someone that REALLY wanted to play, but got mad because I actually imposed verisimilitude and, you know, rules. . . so the first hour of the game is him getting frustrated/bored and goes full sociopath, and the next half is a mad rush to get the players back into the game. But at least there are undead kitties, and the regular players are excited for the next session.

Another slight change of pace and another "prequel" to events coming up in the regular Providence campaign. Uploaded Madness or Death: The Nickerbocker's Tale Session One. Again connected to the regular campaign, this one takes place in 1778 in Providence wherein the characters must investigate a possibly loyalist who lives nearby.

Posting with my username so we can upload the quickstart playtest of 7th Sea we recorded on Sunday, hopefully the first of many APs from our group! It might be a little rough, we're using a $50 Best Buy mic and it's our first time trying to record and edit stuff, but we should get better as Tomsawyer has more practice at turning down the volume on our raucous laughter.

I tried to download a file today but got this:

Policy for Community AP site is changing. I can't afford to host the APs themselves any more. There were over 48 gigs of files from the community games alone. I will determine a new policy when I have time but everyone will have to find their own hosting. Archive.org allows storage of files for free.
