Game Title: The Case of the Mongabay.
System: Shadowrun, 4th Edition.
Players Wanted: 3 to 5 players.
Posting Rate: Once every two days.
Special Rules:
Specialist Qualities (Magician, Adept, Mystical Adept, and Technomancer) do not count against the Positive Quality point cap (35 points).
Experience in Shadowrun is not required.
Advancement Rules: Players will be given Karma each time the story hits a high point (a climax) or a low point (a conclusion).

I would be interested. I do not have a whole lot of experience with play by post or shadow run but i am a quick learner.

Cool. Standard 400 point character build or you can use one of the premades out of the book.

hey i have never played a play by post but i have been listening to rppr for a while. i would love to play. and i was wondering what do you mean by once every two days for posting rate? does it mean that the GM will post every two days? or Everybody?

If no previous Shadowrun experience is required, I would like to join as well.

I'll post every other day, unless everyone has already posted and is ready to advance. I'm aiming low, you can post more if you want to.
I'd suggest to everyone that you start with a pregen if you haven't played before.

Three people is enough to get ready. We can start whenever characters are selected.

actually i dont think im gonna do this. im sorry. its just that i have a lot going on at work and now that i think about it, i mayhave to quit halfway through.

I'll go with either a pregen weapon master or street samurai. What is everyone else going to use?

After perusing the rules last night I believe ill be doing either a hacker or gunslinger.

im thinking that i shall be either a pregen covert ops specialist or hacker.

Any of these selections should work. You can also feel free to adjust any of the skills or qualities if you feel the need to do so.

i think im just gonna use the hacker pregen. is there any certain type of party we should try and make like : fighter, ranger,rogue, wizard. or can we have any combination?

Shadowrun doesn't really work like that. There aren't classes in the game, just general jobs. Hackers, Street Samurai, and Magicians are the three extremes of the three worlds (Matrix, Mundane, and Astral). Between them are Adepts, Riggers, Faces, Infiltrators, and a host of other criminal positions. As general advise you'll want someone who can interact with the Matrix, someone who can Astrally Perceive, and somebody with plenty of armor and guns.

im going with the gunslinger pregen. Im not going to modify it at all. I was thinking of laser pistols instead of the colts but i decided against it. Do i need to post the pregen info or do i just need to come up with a name and a little story?

and i am for sure using the hacker pregen with no changes to it. His name will be Jim "Krat0s" Jones.

I'd like to get in on this action if I can ... I usually gravitate towards the Smooth-Talkin' Face at the table - but given my limited pbp experience, I may just pull a 180 as a street samurai ... think JC Denton as specialist sniper and Silenced SMG virtuoso.
As for the character - I'd like to make my own, but I may just go with a pregen in the interest of time.

Male street samurai. Simply goes by the name 'Dak'.
He's a solid black skinned man with two large cybernetic arms. Instead of chrome or anything shiny, his are even darker than his skin with a matte finish. The covers over his cyber-eyes are rectangular, one over each, not going over the bridge of his nose. He has short hair, cut close, evenly around his head.

I am pretty well set. I need to reread the rules again just to make sure i get what is going on, but other than that i am good.

Since I haven't played SR before, this will all be new to me. If I get pointed in the right direction though, I can usually figure stuff out.
Should we be posting the characters anywhere? I basically just took the pre-gen and changed the sex...
