As the new semester begins, we return, once again, to the Down Darker Trails campaign: The Catastrophe Engine.

Professor Marion Terwilliger has been kidnapped and it seems to have something to do with the mysterious Crescent that was found some months ago and then lost again.  Can the investigators find the inventor in central California?  Why was he kidnapped.

On September 2, 2018, the Down Darker Trails campaign continued the original scenario "The Scorched Secret or The Abduction of Professor Marion Terwilliger."  The role playing journal of the game session is here:

Visiting Montréal again, and buying books.

First, I went to see “From Africa to the Americas: Face-to-Face Picasso, Past and Present” and “Here We Are Here: Black Canadian Contemporary Art” at the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts.  Picked these up at the exhibit bookstore:

With the summer comes various one-shots in other eras.

It is the Sengoku Period in ancient Japan (1520 AD) and three ronin come to the village of Kohai-Mura, where all is not well.  Something is entering the village at night and stealing away the villagers.  This time we played "The Iron-Banded Box" from Strange Aeons II.

This time, a terrible black wolf is terrorizing the village of Wroxeter, England, in the Dark Ages year Anno Domini 1000 in "The Dragon and the Wolf" by John W. Thompson from The Bride of Halloween Horror monograph.  The scenario was played on May 20.

Howdy everyone.

I made a board game. I think it's pretty fun. If you like the work I've done with RPPR, I'd appreciate it if you gave it a look:

I ran a Call of Cthulhu Game at Appalachian State University NerdCon on April 28, 2018.  "Terror Over Tokyo 4: The Demon Procedure" took place during the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo in April 1942. The B-25 Bomber that is part of the raid crashes on an island off the coast of China after the bombing of Kobe and find an abandoned Unit 731 base.  Can they escape the Island of Demons?

The investigators have finally arrived at Devil's Gulch, Colorado, where all their trails seem to be leading.  The town is a beehive of activity with a new store coming in, a new courthouse to be built, and everyone expecting a great boom in business soon.  However, not everything is as it seems and something is very wrong in Devil's Gulch.

On April 22, the Call of Cthulhu Down Darker Trails "Catastrophe Engine" campaign continued with the original scenario "The Doom That Came to Devil's Gulch" which made full use of the BRP product "Devil's Gulch" by Troy Wilhelmson.  The game was to serve as a sort of season finale with the end of the semester and to help wrap up one investigator's backstory as her player might be leaving.

The role-playing journals of the 8-hour session are here:

As the investigators head east through Colorado, they must seek shelter in a decrepit house during a terrible storm.  The servant is a hunchback and the master of the house is nowhere to be found.  Is something sinister going on?

On April 15, the Call of Cthulhu Down Darker Trails campaign "The Catastrophe Engine" continued with the Chill scenario "The House on the Hill" from Evenings of Terror with Elvira.

Role Playing Journals of the game session are here:
