I've got a smallish farm going...

Austin, Yoru and me did some speelunking the other night and the abandoned mineshaft was crawling with cave spiders...

Well to make matters worse I discovered yet another untouched abandoned mine on my little island...

Love the Minecraft server and Sage, Minecraft is the best $26.00USD you'll ever spend!

By the way, I'm patrick_p_f on the server!

This has to be the single largest abandoned mineshaft I have ever seen, I mean we explored that for what 2 hours and it just kept going. Now if we only had a server mod that would allow us to teleport between two locations by building teleporters and waypoints... I would be back down there in a heartbeat.

If you're near the spawn point and you need food, I started two 9x9 underground farms: feel free to harvest the wheat.

Yeah, the mineshaft is crazy. There is still more to explore. I am still chasing down further parts of the original area we cleared the other night!

Also, my place, (x -141, z - 9) has a Public Storage Shed. Anything you find in the chests there is free for the taking. It's mostly redstone and cobblestone.

as in two doublechests full of cobblestone.

Article on Ars about the next game from the creator of Minecraft. Looks pretty interesting. I think these guys have decided to evolve the whole idea of programmable game elements (good ole' redstone circuits) to the next level...

Seems like it will be pretty cool...

Yeah, sounds like a really cool concept and there's nothing like some 16-bit computer programming action to spice up game play!

The only knock is the monthly multi-player charge, although if you're renting a Minecraft server, that charge shouldn't come as a huge shock!

Random question:  Where is the default spawn?  I got lost and can't find my way back to my island... :(

EDIT: Never mind, found it...

So apparently if I go into a nether portal I built, and then exit through the same portal, it transports me about 400 blocks in the x direction and 900 in the z...

Default spawn is at like x100 y 40 or so. Middle of a jungle biome.
