Game Title: A Crazy Line of Work (Looking for a better title)
System: Savage Worlds: Explorer's Edition
Players Wanted: 3-7
Posting Rate: Posting every other day or so would be nice (I've not really run something like this before, so it'll be pretty flexible)
Special Rules: There will be a supplement I will e-mail/post somewhere for download
Advancement Rules: Pretty standard advancement, exp gained by completing story events.

This will not start for about 3-4 weeks (when I get out of school).  Basically this is inspired by pulp-action and crazy plans like those from shows like Mission: Impossible, The A-Team, MacGyver, and maybe a touch from movies like the Ocean's 11-13.  It is basically set during modern era, but with the Cold War still going (so expect some of those themes).  Other than that, I haven't firmed up too much of the details as I want to run the game to the interest of the players.  So if you are interested in playing, start working on character concepts and let me know if you have any preferences on whether you are fugitives/mercenaries picking up random missions (a la the A-Team) or something more structured where you are given missions (a la Mission: Impossible or MacGyver).

Oh, and unless people are really opposed, I was imagining it to be a bit more comedic/ridiculous in the action (i.e. over the top plans and one-liners abound).

I love over the top with one liners. This might be the prefect excuse to finally pick up a copy of Savage Worlds.

I too have a copy of SW:EE, and I'm looking to use it.

Count me in. I vote that we be part of an organized team, Mission: Impossible or Man From U.N.C.L.E. type of thing. Or, if this has a more humorous slant, maybe we're from C.O.N.T.R.O.L., (a la "Get Smart")?

Well Now that Jonhook has signed aboard, I will also.
I've been sitting on the SWEplEd for a month and have been itching to play.
I've never played by post before but I can handle this.

As far as character concept goes... well i can figure something out, i was toying with the gadgeteer arcane background but i'd like to read the handout first or w/e. If it matters i'm in EST (GMT -5).  artchallenger@gmail.com

Alright, seeing as I have finished school and there is some interest, I will write up the supplement.  To let you know though, I'm almost 100% sure that there won't be arcane backgrounds stuff (i.e. magic, superpowers, miracles, etc).  There's a slight chance I might do Weird Science, but more likely I will just expand technology edges.

Other than that, the first bit might be a bit rough as I haven't run a pbp game (though I have a lot of GMing/SW experience) and we will probably modify combat a bit.  Other than that, if there is any more interest feel free to chime in.  If you are worried about not having source books/not knowing rules, don't.  I can easily make a character for you (or someone else can) and the rules are pretty simple, so you can probably get by without them.

Ah, well, if you're still running this, I'm in.  I call the role of hand-to-hand specialist.

I like the idea of us declaring what roles we'd like to fill on the team.

I'd like to be the cypher. I'll know languages and codes. I'm also pretty good with a gun.  ;)

Alright, here's what I've got so far on my supplement.  All that's really left to add is the additional Edges and Hindrances.  As far as characters go, if you want to start thinking about characters that would be cool.  Also, can we get a confirmation on who exactly is going to play?  Don't worry too much if you haven't played before, as I haven't run PBP or SW before (though I've played a lot of SW, and run a lot of other games).  Hopefully people are okay with playing things a bit by ear while we figure things out.

Oh, and I think we'll start at 20 exp (which means you are at Seasoned), but I'm not 100% sure at the moment.

Well, I'll be hand-to-hand specialist as I said,  but I'll side-specialize in either mechanics or stealth depending on whichever we need.

Alright, finished most of it.  Sorry it took so long, I've been caught up with the craziness of E3.  If there is anything you think is missing or would like to see, let me know and I can figure out something to add.

How does starting at 20 exp (seasoned) sound?  If that's good with everyone, go ahead and start talking about/working on characters and I'll get us a board to move to.

I was going to make Ace McKloud the pilot with side spec in repairy, but if Kinhato really wants to take that away from me i'll let it go. But i was sort of thinking the classic

"I grew up in the circus, flying and repairing my plane, motorcycle, unicycle and random circus equipment. I was recruited by the agency and have no formal military training which makes me a bullet magnet." That sort of deal.

Nah, go with it, I'll just focus on stealth then.  Either was really fine with me.

EDIT: Oh, and Seasoned sounds fine.

Alright, talked with Arje a bit ago and we will probably get some sub-boards soon.  People still want to do this?  If so, start working on characters and we'll get them up over there.  I will have questionable internet access for the next week or two, so we can at least get characters done and maybe some prelim stuff, but hopefully I can get enough access to actually start whenever characters are done.
