Anton

Anton is not going to change tactics at all, he won't notice the fading of the sword...

The nobleman's guard tries to take the coins that fell on the ground back from the McYokels as the nobleman yells at him. The McYokels in turn start to beat the guard savagely. Someone in the marketplace screams for the town guards.

Frollo

Frollo will try and rescue the guard.

Is there an appropriate skill?

Anton

Anton is ill at the sight of blood and thus wishes to keep the guard from bleeding all over.  He once again threatens to sic the sword-like force on someone, this time the McYokels, if they do not unhand the guard imediately.

Anton gestures wildly at the group of McYokels beating up the guard, but the swordlike force doesn't budge.

Make a spellcraft check to see if you can direct it toward the right person.

Anton

Anton remembers reading once about the weaving of the forces in the universe required to cast and direct spells.  Realizing this was probably his problem he blindly attempts to do what does not come naturally, hoping it is something like weaving baskets...

Anton directs the swordlike force towards the group of people.

I'll say there are 3 McYokels, the guard, and two innocent bystanders. So, I'll roll randomly to see who it hits.

1-3 - McYokel
4 - The Guard
5-6 - Bystanders

damage.

The bystander collapses in a heap, but at least the blood splatter causes the McYokel's to look up in sheer terror.

Frollo reaches down to help the bystander but realizes all the bones in the bystander's body have been crushed.

Frollo

The physician will drag the bystander's limp body to the nobleman's carriage and attempt to persuade the noble to give them a lift to a temple or a clinic of some sort.

Frollo heroically drags the limp and bloodied body of the townsman toward the carriage of the noble. As he does, the nobleman's guard rushes past him, shouting, "Sorcery! Treason! Insurrection! We must warn the king!" The guard jumps back into his seat at the front of the carriage. The nobleman looks at Frollo dragging the body, and the streak of blood the body has left on the hard dirt street, and gives a shriek and jumps in the carriage. He bangs on the door urging the guard to pull away from the scene of the carnage. The carriage starts to move away.

At this point, the swordlike force also completely disappears and the McYokel's look confusedly at Anton.

Frollo

Frollo says, "I agree with your charges of witchcraft and heresy! We must bring this witch," Frollo gestures at the injured man, "to a clinic so that we may nurse him to good health and properly interrogate him!"

Anton

Anton, worried that he might be next and seeing a way out, says, "Yes, he must be a heretic or at least have dabbled with evil magic to have been cursed like that.  Frollo speaks the truth in our need to interrogate him."
