Livestreaming "Let's Plays"
« on: July 11, 2010, 10:07:25 PM »
So I've been thinking about broadcasting myself playing blind run-throughs of video games on Livestream.  A dude named
Lord Licorice
really inspired me to start thinking about doing this.  It just seems like a fun way to motivate myself to play all the games that I want to for more than 5 minutes at a time.  The games that are probably on the top of my list are playstation-era games (Jade Cocoon, Blazing Dragons, Digimon World, Star Wars RA II, shit like that), classic point-and-click games like Day of the Tentacle, and some of the (and I'm quoting Atlas here) "30 kerjillion games" that I bought during Steam sales.  And of course, I will be (hopefully) heightening the entertainment value with my own, and anyone else's that wants to join in, color commentary.

If I were to do this, I would give a heads up on this thread or a new one of the when and where if anyone is marginally interested.

Is this awesome? y/n

Sounds interesting, I would definitely watch these especially since you quoted me.

What would it take to do like a vent server or some sort of VoIP with whoever wants to scream at me to LOOK ON THE WALL while I'm playing a LucasArts game?

That would be a fun thing to do. I imagine it playing out much like when me and my brother play games.
"You missed that thing behind you."
"This way?"
"No, behind you..."
"This way??"
"Turn around, jackass....Okay, do you not understand what I mean by turn around? That does not mean do a complete 360!"
"Be more specific!"
"I'm going to pee on all your stuff."

I would probably look on if I had nothing better to do (which is likely).  Though let me know how if you get a lot of people watching because I've thought about doing similar things next year as my roommates and I have considered doing some marathon gaming and I wasn't sure if that was something people liked watching...
