Anyone want to help me be lame and get an achievement in Lead and Gold and/or Magicka?  It's for the Steam Summer event, and I can't seem to find a game in either that I have a ping where I can even hope to get it without being intentional...

Killing Floor was so epic last night. Mountain pass on hard - me, darksaw, Thad and Alexander plus 2 other people. Thad got the game yesterday but he did well considering how new he was. I played medic (STOP MOVING WHEN YOU HEAR MEDIC DARTS SO I CAN HEAL YOUR ASSES)

Wave 10, me and 1 other player (level 2 sharpshooter i think) were the only ones left with about 80 enemies left - both of us had pistols and crossbows. We fucking kited the horde around the entire level, slowly picking them off. At the very end, I had to think about each and every bolt and bullet in order to last long enough to kill the remaining enemies. We did it though.

Patriarch just tore through us quickly except Thad somehow got the pat stuck in a truck door (he died getting meleed). 1 player (sharpshooter) simply crossbowed the paralyzed patriarch to death.

MOST EPIC GAME EVER

Best horror game in the last 5 years, easy.

also FrictionalGames (the company) are cool guys, I got to talk with 'em a while back.

Especially with headphones on and the alert noise.  That is some startling stuff to happen...

Terraria is indeed amazing. Plus I bought it on the Steam sale for $2.49. Best bang for the buck game I've bought.

As for the dedicated server, I'm pretty sure all it takes is running the "start-server" batch file located on the Terraria install folder. (Steam\steamapps\common\terraria)

A Google search gave me this thread.

There's a few links in that thread that could prove useful.

Hmmm, an 8 player server (minimum) would cost $32 a month or so.

I found one with $8 a month for 4 slots, $14 for 8 slots. Seems like the best deal AFAIK.

Isn't terraria's multiplayer really spotty?  Like, to the point where even the users recommend using Hamachi to connect?

I played using Tunngle (basically Hamachi) at first, but after port forwarding connecting normally is no problem. There's no Steam integration or server browser so you do have to connect direct to IP though.

Started Mass Effect again today.  I think I played something like 25 hours previously, but lost about half of that in computer data transfer and since it's been so long anyway, decided to just start a new game.  Looking to try and finish it an the sequel this summer (since I just beat Portal 2 and have about 6 other lengthy games to complete as well)...
