Very nice job with the new world primer. I had some thoughts along this line but you surpassed everything I was doing, so I intend to use your guide instead.

Possible additional ideas/hooks:

1) In the middle of a barren plain exists a castle that radiates evil - the players can not even approach it. What is its secret? How does it tie into the history of the land?

2) I was also considering an "Oriental" culture to be found on the far side of the new land. I figured some sort of 4E "Oriental Adventures" would be published by the time I got around to it.

[...] On May 22, I released a free 61 page 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons campaign setting entitled the New World as a PDF. It’s over 22,000 words; features original art from four talented artists and did not cost me a dime to produce. I also made over $520 from creating it. I wasn’t paid by a company to do it. Instead, fans of the New World donated the entire sum using fundable.com so I could get paid for my work and release the PDF for free. This is the ransom model, pioneered by Greg Stolze. I'm starting a Red Steel campaign next Monday and a New World, with the spanish/portuguese people of the Savage World as the discoverers of it is just what I needed.

Thanks!
