Running a con...
« on: February 18, 2011, 12:37:12 AM »
In my tiny geographic area there is a definite lack of cons and I want to do one in my hometown (the closest cons to the place are a five plus hour drive).  As it sits, I have a very small number of people in town (100 or so roleplayers, 50 or so magic players, 50 or so wargamers) that could help and in addition to that the there is only a single game shop within about 50 miles of the place.

Anyone know where I could grab some info on running game conventions?

What have you seen done at cons that has worked in the past?

Any help would be invaluable.

Yog-sothoth has a recording of a seminar about running a mini-con.

Thanks for the link.  It was very helpful.  So far I've got a focus for the con, now I just need a place.
