Since nobody else has submitted yet, I'll kick this thing off.

I don't know how to draw, but I do know illustrator.

As a result, I present The Fall of Thought.

I'll be adding a story eventually. I just need to figure out what I want to cover and what kind of a twist to put on it. Hrm...

I have a general layout for a story but I'm still deciding on which part of the campaign I want to put it in. I am equal parts intimidated and elated to have a chance to step onto Caleb's playground. We'll see if I can take enough Murder to give me the confidence to actually post. Thanks for the opportunity either way.

If you've posters left over, why don't you offer one to Dr. Sandberg?

@ Jay Dugger

That's a great idea! We will definitely do that! His stuff basically filled in every gap in the campaign the day job prevented me from writing. It is the least we can do.

@ Kemlin Dragos

Uh, dude...I'm sure anything you write is going to be great. I mean, I've got panda crime bosses and octopus sex in there; it ain't exactly Shakespeare. We'll be thrilled to see whatever you show us!

Have you actually read Shakespeare? He just didn't think of it. He wasn't above octopus sex.

I am re-listening to Episode 1 to ensure I don't Fuck Up.

Relistening is cool, but if you guys have questions about "canon" Know Evil, post them here and I'll be happy to answer. Or you could PM me. Seriously, I'll get back to you. I have no life  ;)

I was doing the same thing, re-listening to try and get things right.  But since you're offering...

How widespread were SAIROC AGIs, outside of Mitre?

How widespread were SAIROC AGIs, outside of Mitre?

His baseline consciousness is available everywhere, so it depends on the political orientation of the habitat. They are forks, which are illegal within Planetary Consortium territory for anything longer than 4 minutes. But they're also AGI, which can be considered non-citizens or full-blown WMD's, depending on the habitat's individual laws. Within these more conservative territories, SAIROC's are only rezzed in simulspace for the purposes of education and experimentation by programmers and psychosurgeons. Even that isn't allowed for the most part though since Ord Brown put a delete order out on all SAIROC forks.

More liberal/anarchist habitats don't deprive SAIROC's their rights, but since they can then use up resources at will, their numbers are limited according to space and logistics. Basically, if more workers with a specialized skill set are needed on short notice, an open-source SAIROC gets downloaded and modded out with skill sets. It is faster than re-educating someone, holding a recruitment search via mesh, or designing AGI from scratch. However, once the job is done, these anarchist's are not heartless enough to disembody the new consciousness. At this point, the SAIROC becomes part of the community and is presented with further psychosurgical options to further individualize their consciousness. The longer the SAIROC is rezzed, the more individualized it becomes. The only constant among veteran SAIROC's is a generalized optimism, willingness to help, and the faux-clumsiness of the befuddlement algorithm.

This recruitment method is why Mitre had so many SAIROC's. They regularly engaged in highly various, specialized research in a habitat type that required extra maintenance care, but operating as an illegal anarchist broadcast base in the LLA's backyard doesn't motivate a lot of brinkers, argonauts, or anarchists to move there. Thus, they rez more SAIROC's than average to take care of odd jobs around the base, which then earns each one a morph and citizenship amongst the habitat.

...Or at least that is how I imagine it. Change what you like. Long story short, I imagine every anarchist-leaning habitat has at least a couple of modded-out SAIROC's running around, either in the mesh or sleeved in a synth of some sort. Other than that, it's pretty uncommon to see them sleeved in the major polities.

Was the telemetry bong in Know Evil or was that one of the solo adventures?

I guess I have an excuse to listen to the campaign again.
