D&D Encounters
« on: August 20, 2014, 10:57:18 PM »
Is anyone participating in D&D Encounters at their FLGS?  I think they are a lot of fun, and they are nice, short bits of gaming that fit into my merciless schedule.

Here is my character.   Share yours!

Curio the Curiosity Collector.  He is a bard that plays the spoons and is obsessed with keeping his curio cabinet well-stocked.  He wields a rapier named "Trinket."  8)

I used to run 4E encounters('til like, 2011), but I dropped out after awhile, not enjoying 4E and all.

I'm actually thinking of running 5E Encounters and Expeditions at the FLGS nearby, and maybe even playing sometimes. Hopefully. Haven't figured out a character yet. Still reading through the classes.

I ran the Dead in Thay games (the last three seasons) but I'm finally playing again. I really like the structure of Encounters and it's gotten my friends and I back into D&D.

I'm currently playing Dullis Manjaw, the half-orc paladin of Gruumsh. He's an ex-Flaming Fist fascist that doesn't believe in rights for those who can't take them for themselves.

Are your stores doing Expeditions? I ran one of the three Expeditions games several times at GenCon and I'm excited for them.

LordSloth: you should get in touch with your Regional or State Coordinator and have them help you talk the FLGS into setting it up. It'll be easier if your FLGS already hosts Magic: The Gathering or even if they have in the past.

Bishop- It's the same shop I used to run 4E encounters at. I've already talked to the owner and he's scheduled the October stuff, though I asked him to add me as an organizer for the store. That way, I can order the mods, as he's been bad at ordering/reporting things for me in the past. I don't think he reported any of the games I ran for the last 8-12 months that I ran games at his store, but he keeps a high "WPN level" for running weekly MTG tournaments.

I'm 95% of the way through the PHB, and I think I will be trying out(when I get to play) an Uthgart Barbarian(Wolf Clan). I'm going to try and play straight Barbarian, but picking up a few levels in fighter is way too tempting.
