PAX 2009
« on: March 11, 2009, 12:12:53 PM »
A continuation of this thread from the old forum.

I'll be attending the event for the first time and will have several games ready to run at the event. Might not get to actually run them all, depends on time and the availability of shiny objects to distract me.

So far the list of games to play includes:
  • 4E DnD Epic Dungeon Delve, possibly a "follow up" to Tides of Doom by some guy named Ross
  • Possessed, a New World of Darkness Mortal variant that plays similar to Wraith: The Oblivion (the characters are possessed and each player will play their own character and the demon possessing another character)
  • A Trail of Cthulhu adventure simply titled "Bubbles".

I'll have to get in to the D&D4e delve when I'm up there if you end up doing it.
A great ninja move is like great jazz. Nobody is aware of it and anyone who saw it live is now dead.

What do you want to play? I'll be using pregenerated characters but if people on the forums want to be in on it than I can pregenerate to specifications.

Of course, I'm waiting for PHB2 to make the characters and since PAX isn't for months Arcana Power and Divine Power will be out by then as well so everything is likely to change over time.

So no rush.

Just an FYI, the free demo version of the D&D Character builder lets you make a level 1-3 character and print it out. It even has an autogenerate character function.

Hard to say what I'd want to play really. Probably would be fun to play one of the upcoming classes as opposed to PHB1 ones. Maybe a Barbarian.

Character Builder is pretty cool. I subscribe to D&D Insider so I've had it for awhile. I like the power cards and auto-calculation.

I dig the character card. It seems a lot easier to bring WoWgamers and nongamers into the fold because of the presentation.

I've grown quite comfortable with 4E in general. Having just played a 3.5 campaign for the first time in over a year I can safely say I like 4E better.

I've been deciding if I want to go to PAX this year.  I have not gone to a big event like that before and I have heard many good things about PAX.

If I do end up going I would be interested in the Trail game as I am about to start running my own, and the WoD game from my decent amount of WoD experience.

Happy to have more people interested in either, let alone both. Have you seen the Possessed rules for nWoD?
