http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centralia,_Pennsylvania

Centralia is a borough and ghost town in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, United States. Its population has dwindled from over 1,000 residents in 1981 to 12 in 2005[1] and 9 in 2007,[2] as a result of a mine fire burning beneath the borough since 1962

Didn't RPPR do a game set there once?

You've been sucked out of the airlock into the black. Roll all the dice on the table for damage.

Of possible interest especially for horror gaming: historical books bound in human skin:
http://www.vice.com/read/binding-books-with-human-skin-135?utm_source=vicetwitterus

Apparently there was some tradition of famous criminals having their skin used to bind books about their crimes, as a part of their punishment.

As a story seed, maybe one such book bears the curse that anyone who touches the skin feels a compulsion to reinact the murderer's crimes...

While the current situation with ISIS is deadly serious, there's a lot of stuff out there that my GM brain can't help but turn into game fodder.
