I loved the original but remakes suck
whats your opinion on it and remakes in general?

I will probably see the remake at some point but it's not a big priority.

Some remakes are better than the original.

Generally I agree with you...but for some reason I enjoyed the Rob Zombie Halloween.  Not saying it was better than the original, but I didn't think it sucked.

Yeah, but The Thing remake was done by Carpenter. Remakes of Carpenter's movies, though, (c.f. The Fog) suck.
