: Help me do my RPG!!!! (I'll draw you art)

Yeah. I'm shit at coming up with names for things. We have some monsters in our RPG. These guys:

I'm having a "name this monster" contest over on my blog (http://iretarpg.blogspot.com/2010/04/name-this-monstrously-pretty-critter.html). The winner gets their name in the eventual book, and can request a piece of setting-related art. (i.e. something we could use in the book) Post a comment there (http://iretarpg.blogspot.com/2010/04/name-this-monstrously-pretty-critter.html) if you want to enter!

As for a forum topic:
how do you go about naming and creating new monsters for an RPG? Where do you get your inspiration, particularly for names? I suck at this and need some helps :(

What sound do these creatures make? How do they move?

I search language and terms for names.

Typically I take two words that ally to the subject, reverse them, and take half of each together to make a new word. If it isn't a pretty word than I add vowels to make it easier to say beginning with A and moving down the list to I E O and eventually U.

Or I call back to anamanapia, like Patrick might be doing above.

So, with those nasty bastards I'm gonna use "fetis" and "horrible".

Step 2) Sites and Elbirroh.

Step 3) Sit- -es elbi- -rroh

Combos

sitrroh
elbies
eselbi
esrroh
elbisit

I like the sound of Eselbi but with maybe a stronger division of sound so...

Ese'Ibee

Ending with "ee" makes it sound plural so I'll make singular "a"

So, my first name suggestion would be "Ese'Iba".

They make a high pitched squeal. Most of their vocalizations are too high pitched for humans to hear. Their jaws clack noisily sometimes.

They are about the size of a mountain lion or large wolf. They hunt in packs, nurture their young, and are fearsome ambush predators. They are very difficult to sneak up on or hide from, due to their huge range of vision. They can run upwards of 25mph, and accelerate quickly from a dead stop by using their extra arms to push off. They are adept at climbing and use this to their advantage when possible.

In combat the smaller pairs of central arms are often used to grab and pin an opponent while they use their larger limbs to claw and strike. This also frees up their heads, which have razor sharp beaks and a pair of sharp mandibles.

"Unuttered" in Latin is Tacitum. So reverse it and we get Muticat. Add a space and we get Muti Cats.
