So curiously? What system would you use for hunger games if you were to run it?
I had been thinking about running it for origins and actually doing it as a massive 3 part game. The first game would be all the pre arena stuff and the first battle at the coronocopia.
Second would be the first few days, and 3rd session would be the last few. So the first game would start with alot of players and slowly drop from their.
What I was trying to figure is a system thats got a fairly solid mechanics system for combat...but also a well rounded system for character development so people can rapidly level up during the scene.
I was at first thinking D20 or 4th ed, but I am not fond of the uniformity of d20 based systems...secondarly i was thinking an ORE derivative, but couldnt quite find a way to mod it that worked in a way i liked.

Nemesis is a free ORE system and hit location injuries are pretty brutal and thematically correct for the Hunger Games.
-
hrm..i may have to look up that one.
Much like you guys I am in a bit of love with the ORE. :)

How many dice would you suggest for a Hunger Games game using Nemesis?
Edit: thank you for recommending The Hunger Games

I feel bad for getting ahead of Z. Why don't you answer the question?
-
I have pretty much zero familiarity with Hunger Games, but I always viewed the number of character dice as more of a thematic decision by the GM. ~50 is usually my cut-off for fairly lethal horror games.
Maybe give them less because they're kids? It's a new area for me.
EDIT: it would be really interesting to see a character's sanity develop in an actively combative environment like hunger games though

Z - the kids in the games aren't typical - they either have had an extremely hard life that gave them great survival skills or they were trained to compete from an early age.
The relationship mechanics from MAOCT would be a perfect fit for the hunger games

ross let's write a hunger games rpg
