I am in the middle of watching the Twilight Rifftrax and it has rekindled my love of MST3K.
I am currently downloading The Room rifftrax but I haven't seen The Room on it's own yet, should I watch it alone first?
So any Rifftrax that you guys around these parts find particulary good?
Bonus Question: What was your favorite MST3K episode? Mine was "Warrior of the Lost World"
-
First off: http://www.rifftrax.com/donate
I HAVE DONATED AND SO SHOULD YOU
Anyway:
Good Rifftrax
Roadhouse
Troll 2
The Room
Wicker Man
Nestor the Christmas Donkey
Point Break
Eragon
Iron Man
X Men
Terminator Salvation
-
Must donate....must donate.....
One of us, one of us.
I will do so.
-
The Master... will be... PLEASED. He wanted you... to see... my movie, but I, I am giving it to you!
(I have to recommend 'Swing Parade'. It has the Three Stooges in it and it's a romantic movie. With Swing and Parades. And mules going blind.)
-
Bourne Identity
300
Casino Royale
Fantastic 4
House on Haunted Hill (i prefer the one with just Mike)
Independence Day
Halloween 3, Frogs (iriffs by Hor-riff-ic)
Minority Report, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Speed, Die Hard (iriffs by RiffRaffTheater)
Jaws
Next
Memento
Matrix 1&2 (the third is just ok IMO)
Over the Top
Plan 9 from outer space and Reefer Madness (either the one with just Mike or all 3)
All 3 Spidermans
X-Men 2
Swing Parade
X-Files
Both Star Trek New Voyages (World Enough and Time, and To Serve all my Days)
Those + what Ross mentioned are ones I can watch over and over and are all pretty damn good.
-
Rifftraxs Favorites:
Reefer Madness Rifftrax LIVE (If you have not gotten to see one yet, DO IT),
The Dark Knight
Twilight
Twilight: New Moon
Attack of the Clones
The Matrix
Casino Royale
Fellowship of the Ring (LOR movies are still great, but the Riffs were dead on)
MST3K Favorites:
Two-way tie between The Day the Earth Froze for the Joel era and Pumaman for the Mike era.

Best MST3k has to be Space Mutiny.
Worst MST3k: Los Manos the Hands of Fate. Nothing happens in that movie, so there's nothing to make fun of.
-
overdrawn at the memory bank
final sacrifice
future war
space mutiny
SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS
because of Torg
all hail torg

But it would make a hell of a CoC scenario.
-
Last year on Christmas Eve a bunch of us got together and watched Santa Claus vs. The Devil it wasn't too bad. I haven't seen him conquer the martians yet though.
-
I like the crappy mexican santa claus movie more then santa conquers the martians.
Space Mutiny is right there at the top for me with Manos, Laserblast and Pumaman.
Also, I love the Coleman Francis Trilogy (skydivers, red zone cuba and the beast of yuca flats)
-
Thanks looks like I have some saving up to do. Even at just 2 bucks a piece and the fact that I own most of those movies I will be treating myself here and there rather than going on a binge.
-
Space Mutiny is my all time favorite
then Prince of Space
then Massacre at Party Beach, or some such
-
I actually wasn't very impressed with New Moon...
That said, I do think it's important to watch The Room without the Rifftrax first, but it would be somewhat tough to do by yourself...

What about with 3 likeminded individuals with booze and a desire to watch crappy movies?

I wouldn't have written a setting about it if I didn't like it. Best, however? No, there can be only one.

Rezzing this because of 2 kinda WTF rifftraxes I watched recently.
The first is an iRiff, only 91 cents and 28 minutes long, already synced. It is so stupid on the face of it that it doesn't even really need riffing, but the riffing is excellent - http://www.rifftrax.com/iriffs/team-swizzlebeef/ts-captain-midnight-mission-mexico (Also, drink your damn Ovaltine, or Captain Midnight will hunt you down!)
And then theres this...thing, Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny (http://www.rifftrax.com/ondemand/santa-and-ice-cream-bunny), costs more at $10, but its kinda worth it as its a full length movie (really 2 movies, but I wouldn't want to spoil the 'OH DEAR GOD WTF IS HAPPENING!?' portion of it) and because nothing in that damn movie makes sense in any way.
-
Just watched "The Human Centipede" over the weekend and I definitely think this would make be a great cover by the Rifftrax guys.
Apparently the THC II is going to make THC I look like The Little Mermaid! I can't wait...
-
Jurassic Park
The Happening
Dragon Wars
Any Twilight ones
Best MST3k: Track of the Moonbeast, The Screaming Skull, Legend of Boggy Creek, EEGAH, I Accuse My Parents, Anything from Season 7, Prince of Space, and Invasion of the Neptune Men.
