D&D 4 absolutely has rules for crafting magic items, and any character can do it via a feat. As for crafting miscellaneous objects, this is better handled under the umbrella of a broader skill so that you do not pigeonhole yourself by allocating scarce resources (IE skills) to something that is not actually useful in the vast majority of situations the system is trying to cover (IE murderhoboing).

General Chaos / Re: Kickstarter: Cool Stuff

I have a difficult time taking the theory seriously. Does the guy think the money is just going to disappear? That people will intentionally hang onto their money, not give it to banks, and instead "invest" in Kickstarters? Would the Kickstarter people eat this theoretical money?

Amazon gets a cut from Kickstarter. That (might) be taxed as income.

And, from what I understand, many of the larger Kickstarters also have external funding, they don't just use crowd sourcing.

That cut is absolutely taxed as income, as are the creators taxed based on what they receive.
Whether or not large corporations are paying taxes on what they are getting is not the fault of Kickstarter. This dude is seriously fucked if he believes the shit he wrote.

Also I'm a bit confused about why the spambot went in and edited Ross's screenname in the quote. Weird.

Playing Gravity Rush. I know it's been mentioned in this thread before, but jumping twenty feet into the sky, and then gravity-kicking a monster in the face? Totally awesome.

Also I got Spec Ops: The Line for about $3.50 during the Steam holiday sale, and I started it Friday. I don't normally play military shooters, but this one has its hooks in.

players should be seen and not heard; they should know their place

and the best way to deal with an unruly player is a double-tap to the centre of mass ;3

as you were, citizens

I finally figured it out, you're Order 66. That'll make ignoring you so much easier from now on.

I think at best I'm probably a mediocre player and GM. I know my strengths as a player go towards working as a team and trying to make myself as useful as possible, so in games where folks aren't working together I tend to be fairly ineffective. I'm working on both, but the lack of opportunity for gaming for me right now is a bit of a hindrance in that regard.

Talk about timing! The game looks like it'll be run online, so I'll try and get good scans of the various props and some supporting images.

I can see the image just fine on Imgur, I'll have to check again on my work computer on the AP site. As for browser, I use Firefox. It's the weirdest thing, I can even see the image location on the page source but nothing shows up for me.

Is anyone else having a problem seeing the episode images on the Actual Play feed? I can see images on the regular podcast site but I haven't been able to see, for example, the images of the Know Evil characters. This hasn't cropped up anywhere else.

That's this coming Sunday after next. Added plus is the oneshot I'm running involves Nyarlathotep, though it's in a tangential fashion. It'll help explain why Mr. Elias is poking into the cult to begin with.

So it looks like I might be doing a Let's Play thread over in Something Awful of the classic Call of Cthulhu campaign Masks of Nyarlathotep at some point in the semi-near future. Any advice on running the campaign from those here who've run it? I really dug the APs Shallazar posted on the community site, I'll be listening to those again as well as the Yog-Sothoth guys. Looking forward to this.  ;D
