In the spirit of the recent episode, Show & Tell, here's a great resource for Call of Cthulhu props. The linked page contains all free, downloadable PDFs for stuff like a Miskatonic Library card and certificates of insanity.

My go-to resource for modern random character generation.
http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/
Generates name, address, email, website, password, phone number, mother's maiden name, credit card #, SSN, occupation, and UPS tracking number for a package of theirs.
Adjustable by gender, nationality, etc.
Fuck yeah.
-
That is awesome. I'm gonna make like twenty of those, spread them across the table top, and start a Delta Green game with the characters waking up around the table.
-
Yeah, it's a lot of fun. Everything feel very realistic too, except the "password" field. Everyone has these very savvy passwords like "EnandDAb9217#na" or "nna162nhqorp09", nobody uses "password" "123456" or "princess" like real average computer users.

He is clealry consorting with dark gods!
It is true, I serve my dark lord Ubikquitous, he who lives between thoughts.
At a time of day that matches something from current popular fiction we gather on spammer websites and chant a prayer to him.
"ia! ia! why do I need more than one password? Ubikquitous, ia!"

I'm not sure if anyone's actually put this before.

I started using a really nice combat tracker for 4e:
http://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/DnD4eCM
You can import the monsters as a rich text import straight from wizards monster builder. This gives all the stats, attacks, etc right there on the screen. You can also import characters from the character builder files. I just build all the encounters beforehand ( and it rolls initiative for the baddies ) and load them up as needed.

super sweet dungeon generator

A thoroughly excellent Excel character sheet for 4E. Gets regular updates with each new manual/resource and includes pretty much everything. Does all the math for you and is a great substitute if you don't have access to the character builder...

How has no one mentioned donjon (http://donjon.bin.sh/)?
Using the resources on this website (and the WotC Dicebag (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm)) I ran a totally random game (down to random ability score rolls determining random characters). It was. . . random. Also fun.
Oh, and no totally random game is complete without a random tavern generator (http://generators.mechfish.in/).

yes
The reason I ask is because I haven't read any of the August Derleth books and was curious how substanial an edition it is to chapters about government provided suicide chambers.

The KiY is by Robert W. Chambers, not Dereleth.

The KiY is by Robert W. Chambers, not Dereleth.
I know but I believe that Carcosa has since been adapted into the Mythos involving Hastur which is, as far as I'm aware, a creation of Derleths.

I know but I believe that Carcosa has since been adapted into the Mythos involving Hastur which is, as far as I'm aware, a creation of Derleths.
Hastur (The Unspeakable One, Him Who Is Not to be Named, Assatur, Xastur, or Kaiwan) is a fictional entity of the Cthulhu Mythos. Hastur first appeared in Ambrose Bierce's short story "Haïta the Shepherd" (1893) as a benign god of shepherds. Robert W. Chambers later used Hastur in his own stories to represent both a person and a place associated with the names of several stars, including Aldebaran.[1]
Dereleth is behind the octopus god version of Hastur http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hastur

mythos smackdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mythos smackdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not really, it was just a part of the mythos I'd never really cared for but felt by now I should know about. So pretty much August just glued his interpretation of Hastur onto a fictional city created by someone else. Gotcha.

Recently, I discovered a neat app to plan campaigns and adventures for D&D 4th ed called Masterplan. It has been very useful for making a simple campaign framework, building encounters and checking balancing issues and that XP is being distributed at a good pace. You can also use digital versions of the Dungeon Tiles to plan out how the encounter areas will look like digitally for later use during the real game. You can even write a complete encyclopedia as to elements in your campaign if you so desire. It's great to streamline the mechanical part of D&D.
It's completely free but DDI is reccomended. Check it out! http://www.habitualindolence.net/masterplan/

I've been using this one dice roller for all of my Skype Games. It's pretty elaborate and can do things like re-roll on 10s (useful for WoD or Savage Worlds) or sort all the rolls in ascending order (useful for ORE games).

Does anybody know if there is a program out there for creating CoC or Delta Green pregen characters? I believe Ross mentioned one, but it isn't compatible with Macs. I've been making a lot of pregens lately, and even with mach dice, I gotta tell you it is getting pretty tedious. Looking for something to speed up the process, even if it is just a normed distribution of stat points or something.

WINE will solve problems with a lack of Mac Compatibility. DarWINE (http://sourceforge.net/projects/darwine/) is the easiest install.

Just wanted to share this as a really great, really simple and nicely constructed mapping website that allows export of some really great maps. Works great for 4e or really any fantasy/wilderness styled games.

Byakhee is failing on anything I've tried it on. The character sheet is smashed together when I am entering values. I've found The Keep from Yog-sothoth, but are there any other good char. generators for CoC, or a work-around to Byakhee's issues?

I don't know if this has been posted yet but I learned about a contest called one page dungeon. http://campaignwiki.org/wiki/DungeonMaps/One_Page_Dungeon_Contest I looked at a few of this years winner and they're very well done.

I found that while it is smashed together while making a sheet, it works fine for printing. Also you can use the print preview function to see everything where it is supposed to be; you just have to make sure to zoom in.
-
Are you using the Investigator Creation Wizard? That seems to streamline creating the characters and means you don't have to enter the values directly onto the sheet.
I've never had a problem with things printing improperly.

If I remember correctly, it's been a few years since I made Byakhee pregens, I had to export Byakhee character sheets to a third party PDF generator through the print function to get them to look remotely correct. Even then, I had problems with skills and weapons, etc.
