: What will my players find in a Green Box?
: TPKthulhu July 18, 2011, 08:40:03 PM
So the last game I ran for my players was a Delta Green scenario and they said that one of their favorite parts of the game was rooting around a green box filled with goodies. I'm about to run another DG scenario, and I feel like they are going to want access to another GB.

I used to just use the green box generator over at project nemesis, but since that went the way of the dinosaur, I've been having fight urges of laziness and actually think up fun shit. I exhausted a lot of my good ideas on the last scenario, because I didn't know if this group would want to play again.

So for those of you in the know, what would you put (or like to find, or have found) in a green box?

*P.S. They're talking about starting up another green box generator over at the DGML on yahoo.

The green box generator we used to use appears to be down. Hopefully, Ross has a link to a new version.

Yep, I'm supposed to be spearheading the new greenbox generator project. I've been kind of busy so it hasn't been as forthcoming as I'd hope. Actually I gotta go check the DG yahoo group again to check up on whatever notes people have provided since I asked.

Dalmore 64 Trinitas – $160,100

Yet another product of the Dalmore Distillery, Trinitas is so named because only three bottles of this expensive whisky have been made. The whisky is a blend of rare stocks, including some that have been maturing at the distillery for more than 140 years. Two bottles were sold in Glasgow in 2010, one to a US-based collector and one to a UK-based investor. It is the first Scotch to sell for six figures.

A bottle of this would make for a nice surprise. Either a comforting drink or the worlds most expensive molotov.

It goes without saying that EVERY green box should have a caged exotic bird. But here are some other ideas.

  • A crate full of copies (for the Atari 2600) of E.T. the Extra Terrestrial (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E.T._the_Extra-Terrestrial_%28video_game%29)

I would rather see a crate full of unmarked cartridges for an Atari 2600. And several of the cartridges contain pieces of the puzzle. So the players have to find an Atari 2600 and then try all the cartridges suffering through hours of Pitfall and sanity blasting mythos games.

I see that I'm going to have no shortage of user submissions once I get this thang up and running.

14 signed copies of George Plimpton's Video Falconry, a scorched and pockmarked hi-hat sealed in lucite, and a richly engraved .357 revolver barrel etched with the name "Laquanda."

EDIT: and a Luftwaffe gravity knife in a hatbox labeled "Don't even think about it."

A water damaged box full of printed out lolcats, they appear meticulously arranged but in a language no one can understand. (unlike normal lolcats...)

The Generator is now up and running. I added a link from my website.
Now the box has to be filled with goodies to do its work.

Delightful. I've been missing this thing.

I am having so much fun with the new "submit item" option. Come on guys, I know all of you can think of freaky shit to add.

Cheers!
