While most of my time is spent working on Base Raiders and producing the regular podcasts, I've been thinking about what kind of video content we should produce in the future. Obviously, the biggest success so far has been the Dread video but all of the videos have gotten a positive response. I'm also thinking we could produce information/educational/tutorial type videos but I'm not sure what we would cover, since we do tabletop RPGs.
So, thoughts?
-
A video that explains and makes gurps combat make sense?
-
I know Tom has talked in a few episodes about being interested in different miniatures games, and I feel like those are a bit more visual than most of the stuff you guys usually talk about. Perhaps some video of different tabletop mini games and the like?
Also I'd love to see an actual full-length AP of Dread at some point. ;D
-
First thought, Rppr fight club, but that probably wouldn't be as entertaining without thad as hedonism senator to announce the fights. Miniature gaming could make some interesting videos.
-
Miniatures and top down shot card games would be nice.
My suggestion as x-posted from the FB group: Tom should do a satirical video on how to cheat.
-
I say get a green screen, put in some weird backgrounds, and do some Daily Show-esque "on location" reports from various tabletop universes.
-
One of the things I really want to see from RPPR is more adversarial/competitive gaming. The APs I like the most are the ones where each person has his own motivations and are not afraid of player conflict, such as the A Dirty World games. If you can bring that outside role-playing games, that would be amazing.
I'd really like to see you guys play videogames that pit you one against the other and where you can ally or screw each other up. Boardgames like Diplomacy, or videogames like Crusader Kings II, DEFCON or even Mario Party. Seriously, I am not kidding about Mario Party, check out this amazing Let's Play by 4 players who ended up almost hating each other (http://lparchive.org/Mario-Party/). You can also check out the view count in their Youtube videos, almost all of them have 20,000 views or more. And rightly so, they screw each other over during the game and it really is hilarious. With a group like RPPR, I think adversarial games that could work very well. Seeing as this is more videogames than actual camera footage, it might be better suited for Raillery. Either ways, I think it would be amazing to see.

a Call of Cthulhu/Delta Green LARP gone awry...
the Ultimate Rolemaster Critical Hit Chart test (with live test subjects)
a typical Camarilla LARP session (which is strangely like a Paranoia RPG -- you can't do anything without a requisition form; even being able to speak requires one -- those who played in the old org long enough would know of what I joke aboot)
Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom at the Gamer Preserve; beware the Codysaur...
Most Obtuse Game with renactments of game play. I vote Jorune as the first one..."Ok thrid, you come upon a Tarsdak. Now we enter into Did Time. What is your Donk?" and so on ;3

What did you think of The Warriors? http://raillery.tv/2012/06/the-warriors-rumble-mode-part-1/ and http://raillery.tv/2012/07/the-warriors-rumble-mode-part-2/

It's a good start, but what I really want to see is a game that allows player to ally with each other and backstabbing said allies, as opposed to just playing multiplayer versus games. I think player conflict is something that the RPPR group could do wonderfully well and something that a lot of people would like to see.

Interviews with PCs, I'm thinking "Real World" style with things like Gerard and SAIROC talking about eachother.

Found a game we can all try: http://crypticsea.com/subrosa/

We'll need some RPPR fans though to fill out the ranks.
-
Count me in! name the time and place and I'll be there ;D
-
I'm getting more into the group gaming thing. I'll give it a try.
-
Sounds fun; I'd like to join in.
-
I have a new headset and mic ordered so once I get those I'll organize a Sub Rosa night.
-
Found another game we can all play: http://store.steampowered.com/app/218310/
Seems to be 1 v 1 focused for multiplayer but we can play some speed rounds I suppose.
actually we should consider every cross platform multiplayer game: http://store.steampowered.com/search/?os=mac&category1=998&category2=27
Caleb only has a Mac so we need to be inclusive :D
-

Anyone want to try a test game of Sub Rosa on Thursday night?
-
Not sure if I can make it tomorrow, but I'll definitely try.
-
What time did you have in mind? I have some stuff going on that evening but if I get out early I'm in.
-
We could start at 5 pm CST. How's that sound?
-
That makes 6PM EST. You've got me on Skype - if I'm out that early I'll join in but I don't know if I'll be done that soon.
Game looks fun, though.
-
I'll definitely be there. :D
-
I'll start a Skype group at around 4:50 PM - my ID is rpayton13
When you join Sub Rosa - make sure your name starts with RPPR - so we can tell each other apart from other players.
-
Well balls. I just got home; I suppose it's too late to play now?
-
Add me on skype stdaneeka you might just have enough time.
-
I got run over... :'(
-
This was loads of fun, let me know when the next game is gonna be. I'll trade it for 4 stacks of cash. :P
-
No, he doesn't even have the briefcase! I will trade it for... not bullets. Trust me.

race map
anyway - after looking at the raw footage - I realized I had fucked up on my video settings so they have the wrong aspect ratio. Also I screwed up on my mic levels.
Let's try again soon so I can record it properly.
-
There could also be a "How to make Ross Cookies" video. Followed by how to frost a cookie so it looks like a d20.
-
Cancer in my Ross Cookies but how?
-
Recorded some footage in Dead Rising 2: Off the Record and figured out how to upload it to Youtube - I already figured out why the resolution wasn't at proper HD size so future releases won't have the letterboxing - I also upped the level on my mic so my voice will be louder in the next release.

I did a quick video of The Corridor - a short free PC horror game
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=as9pwOI8gAE
-
I, for one, approve of these videos.
-
suggestions for other games will be considered of course.
Redesigned the Raillery site: http://raillery.tv/
-
more chicanery in Dead Rising 2 - I actually recorded at 1080 but forgot to change the export settings in premiere to 1080 so it's only 720 but whatevs - be sure to check out the Yakety Sax remixes!

-
Sooo... when are we gonna play Sub Rosa again? ;D
-
Good question. How about Thursday night? start at 5 pm CST. We'll pile on one team if we only get a few people.
-
I'm in. 8) Let's
kill backstab murder graciously and honestly trade with some dudes.
-
I'll be there.
You should post an announcement on the Steam RPPR group, Ross.
-
I can do thursday at 5 CST
-
Dang, too early for me. I'll catch the next one.
-
Cool. I'll try to be there.
-

-
The ending was the best match, by far. That was fun!
-
Here is the link for the next game we will be trying for Railery: Megaman 8-bit Deathmatch (http://cutstuff.net/mm8bdm/).
-
Some ideas for free multiplayer games we could try in the future (some require Steam and I'm not sure which of these can or cannot be run by Macs.)
A New Zero (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjQUhIWNfqw) <-- From the creators of Sub-Rosa
Moonbase Alpha (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hv6RbEOlqRo)
Obsidian Conflict mod for HL2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAv-6D8J0IE)
Alien Swarm (http://store.steampowered.com/app/630/)
Love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc02ijaw-Tg)
0 A.D. (http://play0ad.com/) <-- RTS Game
-
We should totally try to do an old-school Doom or Doom 2 deathmatch.
Alien Swarm is also fun.
-
We should totally try to do an old-school Doom or Doom 2 deathmatch.
We could do that. Skulltag (http://www.skulltag.com/) and Doomsday Engine (http://dengine.net/) make Doomcompletely playable on modern-day PCs and Macs. However, they require the Doom .wad files that come from owning the actual game, so it's not free.
-

I'd vote yes on that initiative.
-
oh forgot to mention
we doing Elevator Source next http://www.pixeltailgames.com/elevator/
edit: nevermind it's broken http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3017756
-
I remember Alien Swarm being pretty good. I think it might have a four player limit though.
-
4 players is fine.
Oh - planning to jump on some new games when they come out like aliens colonial marines
-
Could you do a video about Playing Arkham Horror? Maybe not the whole session, but certainly the setup, and perhaps a bit of tutorial, and then if you're recording the whole session maybe just clips of some of the more entertaining moments?
Also, have you made an RPPR commercial? A clip with footage of Podcasts being recorded, games being played, and assorted candid moments of the RPPR guys with poignantly chosen background music and voice overs that promotes the site and its products?
-
The Arkham Horror video is a great idea. We can do that pretty easily too.
-
While the game is pretty simple a play of the Quiet Year could be interested. Maybe focus the camera on the map.
-
More Sea Dracula APs
-
Dodgeball Actual Play?
-
Professor Flawless' victory vlog.

Did I ever mention that I approve of that name?
