Definitely going to run a game wednesday night for codex contributors.

I totally want in on this, but I have my CoC game wednesday night. So sad. I hope you manage to record this one so I can catch up later, I shall be too busy revealing the deep secrets of the unknowable cosmos to my players. :(

tl;dr BAAAAAAAAW!!

I'll have to do a lot of reading up on Fear Itself, and skype for that matter... but, I'll see if I can show up.  How does one roll dice over the internet anyways?
: Re: Skype game on 6-16 for Codex Contributors
: clockworkjoe June 13, 2010, 12:03:22 AM
Fear Itself is a simple system to play in.

I will use maptools to roll dice.

: Sean-o-tron June 13, 2010, 11:38:23 PM
Is this open to any and all contributors, or those generous individuals that contributed $100 or more?
: Re: Skype game on 6-16 for Codex Contributors
: clockworkjoe June 13, 2010, 11:44:30 PM
I want to take care of the 100 dollar club first but I still have 3 slots open - if they don't claim the remaining 3 then I will open it up before the game starts on weds.
: Re: Skype game on 6-16 for Codex Contributors
: Sean-o-tron June 14, 2010, 12:01:25 AM
I will totally be bombing in on this session if there is an open slot by then.

PREPARE
: Re: Skype game on 6-16 for Codex Contributors
: clockworkjoe June 16, 2010, 06:21:49 PM
45 minutes to game start - so I am opening up the slots.

Who wants to play?

All characters are members of a documentary film crew investigating the disappearance of 4 children at a gated community named Fiddler's Green.

Because I am lazy, I did not generate pregens. However, Fear Itself characters are easy to make.

Grab a character sheet from here http://www.pelgranepress.com/gumshoe/fearitself/demo.html

A PC starts with 60 points to spend on GENERAL abilities. All PCs start with 1 health and 1 stability.

The Fleeing ability costs 2 points for every 1 point you buy.

Your SECOND HIGHEST general ability must be at least half of the HIGHEST general ability. - For instance if you have 30 health, your second highest ability must be at least 15 points.

All PCs have 10 points to spend on INVESTIGATION abilities

[10:29:50 PM] Ross Payton: Take a look at some of your old photos. Do you have one that's a street scene, maybe from a vacation? Look at it closely. See that guy in the background, in the dark suit? You have to look carefully the first time.

Now look at some other photos. See that figure in the background? Yup, same guy.

He's in the background of a lot of your pictures. Anything where there's a crowd. Always a crowd. He doesn't want to stand out. It's not just you. He's in everyone's pictures. He's stuck there, has been for a hundred and fifty years. Back in 1839 he stopped for a shoeshine, and Daguerre trapped him. He's been trying to find a way out ever since.

Try looking at the pictures again in a few years. He'll be a little closer to the camera.

I forgot to ask this last night, but why was the gated community named after the city in Land of the Dead?

I wanted something pastoral and I was actually thinking of the character from Sandman. I had forgotten about its use in Land of the Dead

With the scenario of a creepy long limbed child snatcher running around and the inhabitants of the community all a little crazy, the image of an older portly gentleman with glasses and a cane did not occur to me at all.  Even so, I think it's awesome you referenced Neil Gaiman in the game. :D

YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

Ahem, the Corinthian turned out to be quite the helpful little sidekick after he was destroyed and put back together again.  I would've been good having him on our side after he was fixed.

yes because I totally would have used the helpful version of the Corinthian for a horror game.

This was the first time I played in an investigative game, so thank you.  Honestly, I think Ross had a pretty big hand in that due to his great NPC characterizations.
