Oh, you crazy Japanese and your simulated violence against women.

Carapaces. All the way down.

I look forward to Dark Sun, but I've got a backlog of games I want to try and too few chances to play.

The Neighbors is old OLD news!

Get with the times, man! "The House that Drips Blood on Alex" (THtDBoA) is the future!

You're right. I should update my Wiseau newsfeed.

Tommy Wiseau apparently made a sitcom pilot this one time.

The PCs' brazen willingness to make Bad Decisions is one of the selling points of the game, though!

This is around 4 minutes of Diver Dan, an old '60s kid's show. Its like Candle Cove, only creepier.

With me, it was a result of a conflicted self-image, an artsy fartsy disdain for "rollplaying" (hur!), and a suspicion of anything that was Popular. Popular, after all, must equate to Crap, right?

I've since come to some terms with my deep, fundamental nerdality, realized that those games can produce GREAT storytelling, and the also appreciated the fact that popular/mainstream things aren't necessarily complete shit 100% of the time.

Also, 4th Edition D&D is just a hell of a lot of fun.

So you were like people who refuse to listen to bands that have record labels?  Is that what you were saying (in equivalent music industry terms that is)?

Sadly, yes. I was a RPG hipster.

Hi, guys. I'm 36 and started gaming in 5th grade with the old TSR Marvel Super Heroes game. I live near New Orleans and am unemployable back in college trying to finish my degree.

To paraphrase Clint Eastwood in "Unforgiven", I've played Toon and Torg. I've played or run just about everything that rolled dice or consulted a table at one time or another. And I'm here to kill you Little Bill, for...well, it sort of breaks down as a paraphrase after that. Anyways, the point is that I've played a lot of roleplaying games, good, bad, and indifferent. I made a point of not playing D&D, Call or Cthluhu or Vampire for a while because it made me feel special, but I got eventually got over it.

While I still get together with (old) college friends for a D&D 4E campaign about once every month or two and hang out on RPG.net, listening to RPPR has gone a long way toward helping me get my fix of vulgarity, smarm, and hammy make believe.
