Ecto Cooler was a delicious and tasty fruit juice-type product drink from Hi-C. It was a Ghostbusters tie-in drink that lasted well after the movies and cartoon were out of the social lexicon (well, I guess they never left, but what I mean is that Ecto Cooler was still made well after the Ghostbusters were popular).
It was discontinued after the new millenium and while it might have been replaced by a Tangerine Blast drink, that was still no Ecto Cooler because it didn't have Slimer on the box. Since then, even the Tangerine stuff has been discontinued and the most amazing flavor known to man has been lost to time.
We can't let this happen.
Join me in my quest to get Hi-C to bring back Ecto Cooler!
What can you do? Simple!
If you use twitter, use the hashtag of #bringbackectocooler and try to convince celebrities to do the same. The first person to get Wil Wheaton to endorse our cause will find favor in the eyes of the Cathartic Lobster (I would offer a prize, but favor doesn't cost anything and I am broke, alas).
Also, if you can compose artwork, music, videos or anything artistic that could help out cause of tasty orange drink product freedom, please post it here.
LET THE REVOLUTION BEGIN!!!!

I bring my fists.
For every time someone tells me they work for Hi-C and Ecto Cooler is not back in stores...I will punch them in the face.

I will help you bear this burden, as long as it is yours to bear.

Which is more likely to be brought back, Ecto Cooler or Crystal Pepsi?

You have no idea how happy Tom would be if Crystal Pepsi made a comeback.

I'm gonna throw a side shout-out to Josta. Anyone remember that stuff? It was delicious and I'm pretty sure I drank 5 or 6 cans a day for a while when I was like 12.

Back on topic: Ecto was most definitely the shit, though. The recent indie cRPG Charles Barkley Shut Up And Jam: Gaiden (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barkley,_Shut_Up_and_Jam:_Gaiden) has Ecto Cooler as a healing item. I highly recommend that game, btw. It's hilarious.

We also need to see the comeback of SoBe's only soda, Mr. Green.

I remember Ecto Cooler growing. I must have drank my weight in it as a kid a day during the summer staying with my dad. Hell, I was a child of the 80's...Anything Ghost Busters fascinated me.
...
Well, Ghost Busters, He-Man, GI Joe, Toxic Avengers, M.A.S.K....
We 80's kids had a lot of allegiances...
Then the 90's came and kinda ruined it for us.

I was born at the end of the 80's (1987) and I remember Ghostbusters, and Toxic Avengers.
Can't say I ever watched He-Man or GI Joe however.
I did watch Space Ghost and Power Rangers, TMNT, Mummies Alive, and Gargoyles.
Plus The New Ghostbusters.
90's wasn't too bad for cartoons.

Also do not forget the greatest animated series (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEx9r5enZsk) to grace the 90's.
But back on topic: Yes, Ecto coolers should come back. Given the gimmick food-stuffs that are marketed to those nostalgic for the 80's, this would mint Hi-C a fortune in sales.

Grimdark Planeteers setting: Ma-Ti fully realizes the potential to control people's emotions, and manipulates the other Planeteers as his personal goon squad to take over the earth. The Party has to dig into the Planeteer past and find a way to revive Captain Pollution to counter Ma-Ti's trumpcard.

I was going to play a 3.5 league of extraordinary cartoon gentlemen type game as Ma-Ti, he was going to be constantly amazed by everything because I was going to play him as some third world stereotype, also insane because of feeling completely useless and I used all the starting money we were gonna get on an immovable rod and a keen vorpal scimitar.
Unfortunately we got derailed in an argument on care bear mating habits and never got to play.
-
thats probably for the best

For some reason Ecto-Cooler and the late 80s cartoon Inhumanoids seem inextricably linked in my mind...
Maybe it was all of those paint chips?
Hmmmmm...
