: Eisenhorn Trilogy

I've finished Xenos and started on Malleus. Great sci-fi pulp fiction. Lots of interesting ideas and fast paced action - there is always something going on - no long boring sections. I'll talk about it more on the next episode but I recommend it. Anyone else read it?

Haven't yet, but I'll look into it.  I'm always on the lookout for good books... a rare find these days.  Thanks for the tip.  That and I just got my hands on a copy of Dark Heresy, the game seems intriguing, and it'd be nice to get a look at the cannon of WH40K.

Hmmm... I really enjoyed my experience in playing Dark Heresy; I should check this series out.

I'll look up the series, I'm fairly involved in 40k. I haven't read many of the books because I've found the authors to be dull.

It'll be good fodder for future Dark Heresy games, or for a Rogue Trader game.

I found these novels collected in one volume this week.  I started reading it today, I'm only about nine chapters in but it's pretty cool so far.

That's what I'm reading. Just finished Malleus. Great pulp sci-fi.

There's a guy named Locke in Xenos.  He's an asshole. :)

I finished Hereticus Wednesday night; I really enjoyed the series.  Has anyone tried the Ravenor books?  I'm going to look for them this afternoon, I think.

I named a family in the new world game the Eisenhorns. This angers Cody for some reason.

Surprising.  It wasn't that long ago when he was, "What's his name, Ross?  NAME EVERYONE FOR ME!"

Actually now that I think of it, I think he was irritated because I wouldn't let him name a NPC bounty hunter Dog or use the name Wu-Tang Clan for anything while I used names taken from other sources.

Did you end up finishing the series?

The Ravenor trilogy isn't bad, but it lacks the same visceral feel that Eisenhorn had.  Apparently Abnett is working on a third trilogy (so far titled the Bequin trilogy) that is going to basically be Ravenor Vs. Eisenhorn.

I also suggest Gaunt's Ghosts for fans of Sci-Fi WW2.

I finished Eisenhorn, yeah.

For a series written up to coincide with the release of model wargame, based around one of the pre-generated characters of the game...it did pretty damn well for itself.
