So.. has anyone managed to get their hands on this one at all? (I know I have, legally)
From what I've read, and that's very little, it seems to keep in the spirit of the world pretty well, though I'll need to do a little more reading to do so.
-
I heard there's some games of it running at GenCon. I know nothing about the system and likewise nothing about the Dresden Files setting. But the pictures look pretty and I love modern fantasy so I'll probably pick up a copy at GenCon, assuming I can get one.

Haha, I love it when good art is a positive to people.
I have the Game of Thrones (the original GoO one) deluxe edition signed by George R R Martin himself. The artwork in that book is absolutely fantastic, and so is the detailed rules, and player creation.
That being said, player creation takes up 12 chapters..... Takes most people over an hour and a half to make a full character.
-
The game system it uses is simple and fun, imo. I honestly think it would make a great podcast.
-
I'm planning on running a game using it, but I want some more books in it. Two just isn't enough for me. lol.

I play Shadowrun, I'm used to it.

The game of thrones character creation is awesome. I love the game world.
-
It is, just so huge. I run a weekly game of it, I only wished they're released more than one book for it.

I do too, being a professional artist. :)
As for the DFRPG, seems like they've done a nice job keeping the game fast paced and fun. They released a couple playtests as APs a few months ago, and even those sounded pretty solid. I'm also a big fan of the FATE system in general, so I'm happy to see it used for a meaningful IP.
-
I've read a little more through it, and while I'm not completely sold on it yet (I think it'll be fun, just not sure how fun) I do think that the supplements they release will help me like it more.
That being said, I haven't read through all of it yet.

I did not know it was out yet, but now that I do I must have it. I am a HUGE Dresden Files fan and have been waiting for a better way to run a game in the Dresdenverse. Tried using a moded NWoD and it did not work so good haha.
-
It's not out yet, but if you've pre-ordered the books, you get the PDF's too.
-
Yeah, been waiting on this for a while now. Been a big fan of the books for about a year and a half, ever since I heard the Bear Swarm guys yelling about them ad nauseum. Now that the tax refund has come in, gonna grab the pre-order and start digesting the FATE system, and all that sweet, sweet setting material. Dunno so much about running it - licensed stuff intimidates me - but who know?
For the 'Za Lord!

RJ talked about running a PbP game of Dresden soon.

Ah man. Now I have to buy it. Curse my curiosity.
-
It's really nice. You should buy it.

The D6 Generation (http://thed6generation.com) did a good interview with a couple of devs, I have no clue what the game is about, but it sounds good, prob gonna check out the books.
