There's a new H1 Zoom coming in July (http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/03/zoom-h1-handy-recorder-captures-24-bit-96-khz-stereo-for-99/). Basic stereo recording, nothing fancy, but the $99 price tag and the SDHC expandable memory should put it on the radar of any po' folks looking to start recording their games.

I like their idiot proffed control set up there.
"Press the button to record".
"Which button?"
"The button."

Yeah, I have a feeling it's going to be pretty idiot-proofed. I'm interested in seeing the specs when it actually comes out. The setup I'm using for my current recordings uses two external mics suspended from the ceiling, so it's not really convenient to take on the road. It'd be nice to have something of substance to go mobile with that's not going to cost an arm and a leg.

10 hours on only one AA is pretty good...

The 360 degree recording feature on the Zoom H2 is perfect for recording game sessions. So I don't really see this as a replacement since the H2 is only like 60 bucks more now. If you're going to podcast game sessions and you're paying for hosting, audio software etc. you might as well get the equipment that can do it right.

$60 is a big difference. That's enough for three packs of cigarettes.

You have to remember that most members of the RPPR crew are non-smokers and light drinkers, which is why we have a lot of spare coin (or at least did) for gaming.

Enough for a "vidja" game...

Ross, I'm telling you, Get the Zoom H2 company to sponsor RPPR. A little ad at the beginning of every episode. Cha ching.

Corporate baby! Yeah!
think what with each actual play kicking in at at least two and a half to four hours (scott glancy and candle cove coolness not counted), and it all being provided for free, we could stand to have a thirty second advert at the start. Let's face it, that would actually help listeners who don't browse the forums know how to getgood sounding actual plays themselves anyway!

You have to remember [...]
Blah blah blah. Cigarettes aren't $20 a pack either (yet).

They could be in Canada now.
