The "Origins" thread made me think of think of this: If you had to decide the alignment of each RPPR Cast Member, what would it be and why?
-
Ross is Chaotic Evil, obviously.
-
I'll use characters played as a window into the soul.
Aaron = LG (obvious reasons)
Tom = LE (Most of his characters are badasses who live by a specific code of conduct)
RJ = CN (his characters have other agendas and generally run counter to the party)
Bill = NG (just one of the good ole' boys)
Dan = LN ("I add one to my dark spiral aura")

I don't think Aaron could be LG because I'm not sure he follows a strict code of ethics. Maybe CG?
-
Aaron is def. LG. He's just not very consistent with it but no one's perfect.

Concurred.

And what alignment would Patrick or Karee be?
Or mwah?

Well, like all women, Karee must be a Chaotic Evil thief, right?
-
I still espouse an alignment cube over a grid.
-
I'd say Cody is probably CN.

I think he's more CG

I was waiting for someone to break out that line. That's one of the best episodes for Deviant Boy quotes. I remember having trouble recording my lines because some people who will remain nameless Ross, Tom, Jason, and Chris were making too much noise laughing in the background.
"Why ever be out of character? It's so much nicer in there. Player characters don't have problems with girlfriends and jobs and a rash that just won't go away."

What is your third dimension?

What is your third dimension?
Badassness
-
What is your third dimension?
Mean/Nice.
Just because you're Lawful Evil, doesn't mean you have to be a dick about it.

Lawful Evil doesn't really mean dick. Now, Neutral Evil, like me, you have to watch out for.
-
We almost have the entire grid filled out, except for True Neutral.
Who's gonna get shoved on that grenade?

See I would say i'm more true neutral than CN...but it's up for debate.

I don't believe in unrealistic holdovers from AD&D.
-
It seems to me true neutrals in a starting character are wishy washy and are hopefully played as such until they get a disrection, and true neutrals in an ending character are the 'seen it all, now slightly apart from the world' characters that are formed from strong conflicting storylines.
Funnily, I think some of Ross's characters seem to end up as true neutral at the end of plays. I'm thinking of the first DRYH game (the divorcee) or even the captain in Tom's very first Divine Fire playtest.

my character in DRYH sacrificed any possibility of having his issues resolved so the kid could have a better life
-
Yeah, Tom would only play evil characters if he had his way.

Ah, I had remembered that came as much from him feeling apart from those issues and that life, as much as also wishing to ensure Dan's character had happiness. Which is why I thought of him as a true neutral, there was the combination of goodness mixed with a little world weariness. My mistake!

He must've been putting on an act to seduce me to his sinister ends when I met him in person.

I've always seen Neutral Evil as an equal-opportunity prick. Willing to mess with your life when the situation allows for it. Lawful Evil, in my eyes, push you into situations where they can punish you without fear of repercussion. The bank manager who doesn't highlight JUST how big your debt will be if you don't pay your loan back on time, for example.

Yes but you can counter lawful evil if you know the law that makes them lawful. Chaotic evil ones are unpredictable sociopaths so you know to avoid them at all costs. But neutral evil, in my opinion, is the most evil. It's completely self-centered. What benefits me in this situation most? Or, what hurts me but hurts someone else more? Neutral evil is an adherent believer in the zero-sum game.
