: Buying Guide
: Shallazar November 08, 2010, 06:51:39 PM
The holidays are comung up and I've got to get crap for my group at least. I'm just not sure what to buy them.  We (as a group) already own Mutants & Masterminds, Eclipse Phase, oWoD, Monsters and other Childish Things, Savage Worlds, 4E, and CoC. Everyone will appreciate dice, but lets pretend I have billions of dollars to spend on RPG books, minis, and other parphanelia.

What would you recommend, or anything that is on your wishlist as well?

Shadowrun 4e is still on the shelves. Might not save the company but at least you can get the last core shadowrun book that Catalyst will produce.

Other than that, I am a pretty big fan of Pathfinder which I think really cleaned up alot of issues 3.5 had, not all mind you, but most.

Targets of Oppertunity for Delta Green is sweet.

I really like these maps here (http://www.amazon.com/Chessex-Role-Playing-Play-Mat/dp/B0015IQO2O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1289262350&sr=1-1-spell).

Also the Pound of Dice (http://www.amazon.com/Chessex-Pound-O-Dice/dp/B000UU4LLO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1289262619&sr=1-1) is a good option

Masks of Nyarlahotep just got rereleased.  And since money is not an object, get the limited edition hardcover (http://catalog.chaosium.com/product_info.php?products_id=5151).

You're right. The title is A Castle in the Attic? I misremembered.

I heard this guy name Ross Payton or something wrote a book or two or something.  Not sure how good it was though...

I'm looking forward to hard copies of pretty much every MaOCT book, as well as a copy of Fear Itself.

As long as money is no object, let's buy dice made from dinosaur bones (http://crystalcaste.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CC&Product_Code=02153S&Category_Code=XS) and meteors (http://crystalcaste.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CC&Product_Code=02152T16&Category_Code=XS).

I might as well get Road Trip, and bigger bads.

Thems battle maps is alright but we just got G'HUGE whiteboards donated at work so we might just use those.

Masks Hardcover already checked.

Just for Patrick, I'll look into A Castle in the Attic

I forgot Dread and a Jenga tower.  The best gaming investment you can make.  A lot of fun for the price, especially if you already have the Jenga.
The black onyx tower adds a little something extra, but I would prefer blood red lettering instead of silver.

Well Shallazar if you're like me and you can't come up with an original game concept that doesn't end up like a prom night baby, you really should get Road Trip like I'm about to.   My players loved New World so I'm giving Ross another shot.

And Road Trip better be good Ross, because I'm not getting a picture from Moody when I drop cash on it.

Believe me, Road Trip is worth it.  IT HAS THE THREE WOLF MOON SHIRT.  Also Coolrat.

Well spank my bum call and throw me in a den of cosmi horror.   I'm sorry.  I submit myself to Parlimentary and/or Ghoul judgement.
