Monsters and Other Childish Things is the easiest of the system's games that I've ever played. I suggest starting there.

MaOCT is one of the easiest games I've ever played in general.  I can teach people all of the rules in like 5-10 minutes.  Also the setting is presently my favorite.

Be sure to get the right adventures for it. I recommend Road Trip and a Curriculum of Conspiracy.

Alteratively, watch Goonies a couple times and start writing something.

They aren't just books, they are like the Power Sword for MaOCT.  Would you rather be He-Man or Prince Adam?

I LIKE ROAD TRIP HE IS A COOL GUY AND DOESN'T AFRAID OF ANYTHING

Okay, I will admit I got all my friends onboard by running Sucrose Park.  In any case, it's hard to not have fun with MaOCT.

Also, I would recommend finding the 1st Edition rules in addition to getting the legit rulebooks.  The 1st Ed manual has pretty much everything you need to know about the game in 10 pages, and also a lot of solid examples.
