: I could use some help - Non-lethal weapon ideas for GURPS One-shot
: Pfled December 20, 2011, 02:56:49 PM
Hey all,

I am designing a GURPS game where the players are kids battling over control of a woods.  Kind of like Lord of the Flies meets the Sandlot.  I am looking to add in a bit of comedy, ingenuity, as well as action and fun.

I am trying to think up some good kid-like improvised weapons/traps for the NPCs who will fight dirty, for instance, slingshots and dirtballs, aerosol can and a lighter (more for show), stinkbombs, catapults, etc.  The more imaginative the better.   Does anyone have any really clever ideas?  Thanks in advance!

Thanks, totally forgot about that as a resource.  Good thinking, thanks.

Tripwire knocks over a bucket and dumps sticky sugary syrup on them...also a bee hive.

Of course theres the classic spring loaded boxing glove.

Probably a camouflaged pit with punji sticks lacks the sense of childlike whimsy you may be going for though.

Maybe steal idea from stuff like Home Alone, or maybe Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers?

Thanks for the ideas!  Bee hive is awesome!

You are correct, punji sticks are a little too violent.  However I recall my trusty old acorn gun from childhood (2 paper towel tubes, rubberband, tape, and some acorns) split a few lips.

Never watched Rescue Rangers, I'll have to check it out.

Maybe instead of punji sticks, have a camo pit thats a bit deep with mud at the bottom, the kind of mud that you just sink into and everytime you try to pull your leg out you have to fight against a vacuum and just sink further.
