Also known as the first appreciation thread for a forum member. Possibly ever.
The first time I ever visited these forums it was Tad that helped me with all my questions. You deserve it, honestly...
Seriously thanks for all the help over the years.(Yes I've been here for years as in more than one of them)

Yes!
Although I have never met him in person, I've played in several Skype games with Tad. He is great!

Gentlemen it is an honor to be counted as first among a splintering of a sub-group of nerds.
Thank you, very much.

I think Tad was the first non-RPPR member ON THE OLD FORUMS. How many of you remember THE OLD FORUMS?

That was back when Ross was just starting to accept donations, I believe. He'd said something on the podcast about giving shout outs and, at the time, I was part of a little sprite comic group so I made a donation which Ross acknowledged and mentioned the site. He got my handle right and everything.
I think there was a second, tiny mention sometime after that during a brief discussion of fans in general and my name was thrown out.
I love hearing other people say my name. Well, my online handle, but whatever.

Wow, the old forums. That seems like a long time ago. Only other guy I remember from then would be Jon Hook, who actually ran a game that ended up on the AP site, back before APs and episodes had different sites; something I continue to strive towards myself.

Fun fact: Googling Tad's handle turns up this thread in the third position.

Fun fact: Since I'm the only Tadanori Oyama, I sometimes Google my handle to review places on the internet that I haven't gone to for years.
-
You just made me decide to google myself.
I found some old Fan Fiction I wrote in like 2003.

I just googled myself and discovered that a fireman with the same name as me has a Ford commercial about him.

You're a good man Tad. Many, many posts and hours online. I respect that you reach that point with purposeful contributions (and not random spam)....
-
Tad is great. From alll the digging he did in the pit, to his great helpfulness in post he's an all around good guy.
-
someone's done a game detailing Tadanori's epicness

I heard about Tad before I heard about RPPR actually. I came across this and a few other websites looking for something to keep me awake at a data entry job in 2009. I found NerdBound first and they did some Rogue Trader games run by Tad over Skype. That was actually my introduction to the setting. Tad did a great job running those.
