: Steam Summer Sale/Trading Cards
: Mckma July 11, 2013, 02:23:31 PM
So I know we already have a thread for video games in general, but I thought this might be helpful or of interest for people who want to do some card trading for the Summer Badge (or just trading in general).  If it is deemed redundant, I understand that if it the thread is merged or deleted.

In any case, would anyone be willing to trade away TF2 cards?  I would really like to finish a badge for that game and could grind out some hours on some other games to offer up some cards....

I've got cards I don't mind swapping but I don't play TF2.

I've got some Don't Starve, Magicka, and Warframe right now.

No need to actually play games to get their cards, just leave them running in the background while you're doing other stuff and before you know it you'll ahve more trading cards thatn you know what to do with.

A lot of people don't see their worth and just sell them on the Steam market. That's completely fine, but I am the type of guy who collects these things, so I'm on those people who buy them up. :)

Already bought Recettear: An item Shop's Tale and a gift copy of Dark Souls for a friend. Next is Wargames: Air Land Battle, Anno 2070 and possibly the Skyrim DLCs (even though I think that at $9.99 they are STILL over-priced)

If anyone does not own Bastion, you NEED to buy it.  It's $2.24 right now and an absolutely wonderful game.  A real steal at that price too....

I got myself a copy of System Shock 2 before the sale--curses!--and holy crap, did it hold up well. The graphics are a little N64 cheesy, but it's survival horror done right. I regret every bullet I shoot because I have no idea where I'm going to get more.

A+. Would recommend.

Bully
Scribblenauts Unlimited x2
Organ Trail
Hotline Miami
Borderlands 2 Season Pass and Krieg DLC
Just Cause 2
and
All the Tomb Raider Games

Edit: Added All the Fallout games.

Perhaps it's a little early on to try and arrange too much of this, but for the summer getaway badge I have 2 each of Football Manager and Dead Island.  Anyone have spares they would like to exchange later in the week?

I have most of the dlcs for borderlands (thanks to the special sale), but I heard Krieg is a little management heavy.  I was going to get Dark Souls, but I wish I would have gotten it when it was 6$. Any good pc controllers for DS?

IMO the best gamepads for PC are Xbox 360 controllers.
The wired ones plug right in and are detected natively on vista and above, xp just needs the driver installed.

The wireless ones need a receiver, you can get them on eBay or amazon or anywhere for ~$15.

You can get ps3 controllers to work too, but the software (third party, since sony hasnt bothered) is kinda wonky and can cause issues with some games, and general system stability.

Yeah, 360 controllers work amazing on the PC (assuming you are on vista or above).  Plus, in my personal opinion, it's my favorite controller as it (just comfort-wise).  Once my roommates move on, I will seriously consider buying one just because they work so well (and I don't have a 360)....

I'm looking for Bioshock Infinite, Prison Architect, and Tomb Raider Summer Sale cards, I have an extra Kerbal, Football Manager, and Dead Island card I can trade.  Anyone interested?

Once you have a full set, you can craft them into badges. It lets you raise your Steam level score (basically the Xbox's Gamerscore mechanism) as well as gives you profile backgrounds and emoticons to pimp out your Steam profile.

It's all cosmetic, but people really like to pimp out their Steam profile. Including me, of course.  ;)
