: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Cthuluzord February 19, 2014, 09:53:11 AM
Here's the beginning, middle, and end for my prep work running the DW campaign on our many "off-nights" at RPPR. Marvel at my anatomical cartographical mastery!

Knowing nothing about this game I am lead to believe Dungeon World is the game your inner 12 years old always wished they could play?
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Tadanori Oyama February 19, 2014, 11:49:58 AM
Nice. I foresee roughly three hours of body part based racism and puns.

Reminds me of the RPG Reign but that had two bodies, a man and a woman I believe.

Also the video game Xenoblade which had the giant die standing up while fighting another giant.

: Kamen February 21, 2014, 08:05:21 PM
This was really neat! I've always liked the idea of beyond gigantic scale monsters and living on top of them. Like Tad said, reminds me of Xenoblade and stuff. Plus all the body puns!

: Wooberman March 11, 2014, 11:12:26 AM
I'm incredibly proud that the game hasn't descended into penis jokes.
Knowing my group they'd immediately say that they came from the twin islands of Scrote-opia.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: crawlkill March 11, 2014, 11:43:06 AM
so is it actually completely skeletonized? it's not covered in hideous withered giant flesh? or does that vary from place to place? the whole idea is just so gloriously grotesque that I've been making a deliberate effort to visualize everything.

and are there other landmasses? does society consider them mythical? I so long to know about this vile world
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Tadanori Oyama March 11, 2014, 12:33:32 PM
I think they're still getting their fill of coccyx jokes. Actually very little body humor in general. RPPR is higher class than the average gamer.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Mr. Purple March 11, 2014, 11:29:29 PM
We will NEVER get our fill of Coccygeal humor.  And honestly, can there ever be enough jokes about the tailbone?

A humble homage to the anatomical cartographical master.

Now Caleb, how serious were you about Load-Bearing Fungus, 'cause I am totally going to be thinking up lyrics all day now?

That's it, this setting now needs an official sourcebook.  ;D

He looks magnificent.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You're adorable, David. That warms my heart.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Review Cultist March 29, 2014, 11:52:07 AM
Glad you like it David! I have plans to color all group's characters from that map I did, and any NPCs that really stand out for me as they come.

As an over sight I guess I got lost in the moment of coloring an elf character and gave him a green outfit, realizing my folly not a scant few moments ago, I ran back into the Photoshop file and made corrections, then posted a new version of Meliandre. I hope you enjoy the more magenta minded minstrel! XD

(Wasn't sure if posting a revise was really necessary, but if someone feels it should be displayed here, by all means. You'd have at least my blessing.)

: Mr. Purple March 29, 2014, 12:51:21 PM
Perfectly purple, posed in plum.  ^_^

Yes, the magenta-minded minstrel is much more marvelous and thank you again.  Whether he's posted and displayed here, he's already in my cell phone so I can show him off to everybody I run into.  One way or another, he's getting displayed!

I wanna know how many sessions total of the DW campaign there are, because I'm loving the system.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago

I believe the next episode is the last one.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Review Cultist March 31, 2014, 11:32:53 AM
Alright, now I have a question. Is it the last one because you guys just haven't played anymore of it since the APs or did the "plot" end?
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Kroack March 31, 2014, 11:55:23 AM
Plot with a billion quotation marks.

I believe we have plans to do more. We just have not played it in a while due to Ross being out of the country and other games coming up.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Lordsloth March 31, 2014, 08:18:19 PM
I do hope there are more episodes. I was really enjoying the hijinks. And the plot. There was plot.

Huh, I beseech thee.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Tim April 01, 2014, 11:06:42 AM
The alternative theory is that Caleb felt a 5th session would put his liver in danger of shutting down so put it on hold.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Cthuluzord April 01, 2014, 12:52:56 PM
So if I wrote up a Dungeon World supplement for the Colossus Archipelago, who would be interested in that? It would have the map, location descriptions, some world history, and new character classes (I'm thinking of a Histomancer right now -- basically an allergy sorcerer). Let's call it 20K words. How much would that be worth?

@Tim
Your theory would presume that I only drink during those games. In the 'drinking' and 'dungeon world' Venn diagram, the tiny circle is entirely inside a much, much larger one.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Tadanori Oyama April 01, 2014, 02:11:40 PM
I'd pay between six and ten dollars for a PDF; ten to fifteen for a paperback hard copy.

NOTE: That'd be list price, by the way, not after tax and shipping or whatever.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Gorkamorka April 01, 2014, 02:13:25 PM
I would pay 5-10 for the PDF.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Review Cultist April 01, 2014, 03:05:51 PM
I offer my art to this!

Also, failing that, I would definitely buy this supplement. XD

$5-10 seems pretty fair indeed.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Lordsloth April 01, 2014, 05:58:41 PM
$5-10 for a PDF seems reasonable. Perfectly reasonable. Almost... too reasonable. Nah, just the normal kind of reasonable.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Tim April 01, 2014, 06:05:56 PM
Caleb, I apologize for besmirching the good name of your liver in implying it being unable to handle the drinking associated with a Dungeon World game. I forgot I was dealing with a writer who also has being a school teacher and thus your capacity for the booze is nigh bottomless.

I would go $5 for the supplement myself.
: Re: Dungeon World Campaign: The Colossus Archipelago
: Dom April 01, 2014, 09:05:36 PM
I'd pay $5 for it if it meant that we could get at least five more AP episodes of Dungeonworld.  ;D

I don't understand DW supplements. It sounds awesome and all! But isn't one of the main selling points of the game building the world as you go along?

I think a good supplemet would give you a foundation to build on. And especially in one shots you might want a general environment allready established, to get to the meat of the game.

The world creation does work pretty amazing in one shits though. And many would say its a big part of the meat of the game.

True, it might not be a product for everyone. Really depends on what you want out of the game.
