"Uhh...I suppose I could do that," says Bob, his face furrowing up in concentration. The air shimmers around him, and numerous strange things happen. After the third shimmer, Bob begins screaming "THE EXECUTIONER I WAS MEANT TO BE!" with each successive shimmer. After a few more, he begins to also scream "I MUST DIE WHILE SUFFERING!" at the same time. It's a good thing he's an angel, or he'd have some serious difficulties. After the last spell, a deafening fart echoes out across the city. "Gee, I guess that my powers are a bit rusty. Should I try that again?"
Manslop, Joseph, and Elizabeth all notice that they now hold glowing magical weapons in their hands. Everyone also notices that onlookers are staring at them strangely now. People who can see other party members notice that their companions have all acquired a faintly glowing magical symbol in the shape of a vagina. You all feel strangely compelled to scratch and sniff it.
The elf Cynegels is talking to steps back as the glowing vagina symbol appears on his forehead. "The kings have come again! It's as the prophecy said! ALL HAIL!" he shouts, falling to his knees as a thunderous fart echoes across the city. The rest of the patrons of the bar do the same.
Elizabeth notices a convenient home improvements shop just down the street, and is making her way there when a beautifully worked awl pike appears in her hands. Shortly after that, a thunderous fart echoes throughout the city.
Bob causes the following things to happen:
He casts Mass Vulnerability to Unethicality
A random weapon to appear in Elizabeth's hands (a +15 awl pike, sized for her)
Another random weapon to appear in Manslop's hands (a +5 voluge)
He causes himself to have to yell "The executioner I was meant to be!" whenever a spell is cast
He causes a magical scratch-n-sniff symbol of a smelly vagina to appear on the forehead of each party member
He acquires scotophilia (I don't even want to know what that is)
He casts Detect Magic
He casts Mass Protection from Physical Harm
He causes both himself and Manslop to forever believe that talking things out is overrated. Attack first!
He causes himself to have a 12% chance to shit 8 random gems each day if meat is consumed.
He causes a random weapon to appear in Joseph's hands (a +5 long spear)
He causes Manslop to forever hiccup while telling a lie
He causes himself to fart at 125 dB whenever a spell is cast
Remember, the dice never lie.
Also, anyone who's not posting is going to be subject to getting killed in stupid ways that are neither entertaining nor scholarly.
F.A.T.A.L.
When it first hit the fora it was greeted with derision and disbelief, with posters quoting snippets from the ruleset as “evidence” that they can't be serious, this can't be a real game, they had to be putting everyone on. Sadly, it eventually came out that it was no joke, that Byron Hall and company were dead serious and firmly believed they had created the Greatest Game Ever (an opinion they apparently still hold).
The short version: FATAL is over-complex, incoherent, racist, misogynist, and deviant in a bad way. More details are in the “Game That Must Not Be Named” entry and the links from there. Note: The source of the game, fatalgames.com, may have recently gone out of business. (And the consensus is "good riddance".)
In the first edition, F.A.T.A.L is an acronym for "Fantasy Adventures to Adult Lechery", but this was toned down to "From Another Time, Another Land" in the second edition.

Ok, first off, what the fuck happened in that first post?
Being a guy that looks up the definition of every word he does not understand: Scotophilia (unlike Scatophilia) is just a synonym of Nyctophilia, which means that prefers darkness or night, like a bat or a raccoon, I guess. Man, did I screw up the punctuation in that last sentence, might as well, go. With it. Motherfuckers :P
I did acquire a copy *cough* of Fatal to look at it, it's not only made of vagina scratch-and-smell spells and nipple hue stats. It is pretty much encompass both banal and anal stuff. They've got stats for every part of the body practically and spells for tons of useless non-deviant shit. It's more boring than disgusting in my opinion.
The creators are sociopaths that should definitely be in an insane asylum in any case.

Joseph wakes up lying in a gutter like all of the other gutters he's found himself in over the years. This one's pretty dank, but not as dank as he'd like it to be; he'd rate it a four out of five stars for dankness. He'd heard vague murmurings about the tournament around the town, and he liked the idea of being able to legally beat the crap out of the people who'd been mocking him behind his back for so many years.
He cracks his knuckles loudly as gets up, takes a piss on one of the sleeping bums who he thought had laughed at him behind his back the night before, and heads off to buy himself a weapon.

Made is pretty sure she can make out the addition of "Split their spines!" to the screaming, although it's all so jumbled at this point that it's impossible to tell for sure. When the smoke clears, Bob looks over at a random man walking across the square. "I CAN SMELL YOUR BALLS!" he screams, pointing a finger at the man. "THEY STINK!" He gestues at the man, and the man goes up in a puff of smoke while Bob screams things and farts loudly.
"Oh hey, I did it, just not to the right guy," says Bob, looking simultaneously pleased with himself and dejected.
Grignir manages to put the fire on himself out. The bar is burning pretty intensely now. He spots a chance to further his heroic baby image by rescuing the stupid and innocent civilians who are still in the bar.
Athamas dashes across the street, dodging around a horse who radiates an aura of sass, and tripping over a kneeling elf just inside the door of the bar. "You dare disrespect the king? Kneel fo--" The elf stops, gasping. "Another! This truly is the time of the prophecy! Hail the kings!"

Congratulations on being selected for Team 7 (forest green shirts) of the Scituate Soccer Club! My name is Michael and I have been fortunate enough to be selected to coach what I know will be a wonderful group of young ladies. Chris Mac will also be coaching and I expect the ever popular Terry to return to the sidelines. Our first game will be Saturday April 4 at 10:00AM. There will be a half hour of skills followed by a 1 hour game, so total time will be 1.5 hours. All games will be played on the fields in the front of the High School. Each player will be required to wear shin guards and cleats are recommended but not required. A ball will be provided to each player at the first meeting, and each player should bring the ball to games and practices. There is no set practice time allotted for the U8 teams, but I will convene with the coaches to determine the best time and place. If there are cancellations due to rain, all notices will be posted via the Scituate Soccer Club website, no calls will be made (though I will try to send an email). Attached is the Schedule and Code of Conduct. After listening to the head of the referees drone on for about 30 minutes on the dangers of jewelry (time which I will never get back), no player will be allowed to play with pierced ears, hairclips, etc. We used to tape the earings, but that practice is no longer acceptable. Please let me know if your child has any health issues that I need to be aware of. My home phone is 781 XXX XXXX, my cell number is 781 XXX XXXX, and I check my email frequently. According to my wife, my emails get too wordy, so for those of you read too slowly, are easily offended, or are too busy, you can stop here. For the others……
OK, here’s the real deal: Team 7 will be called Green Death. We will only acknowledge “Team 7” for scheduling and disciplinary purposes. Green Death has had a long and colorful history, and I fully expect every player and parent to be on board with the team. This is not a team, but a family (some say cult), that you belong to forever. We play fair at all times, but we play tough and physical soccer. We have some returning players who know the deal; for the others, I only expect 110% at every game and practice. We do not cater to superstars, but prefer the gritty determination of journeymen who bring their lunch pail to work every week, chase every ball and dig in corners like a Michael Vick pit bull. Unless there is an issue concerning the health of my players or inside info on the opposition, you probably don’t need to talk to me. Coach MacDonald has been designated “good guy” this year.
Some say soccer at this age is about fun and I completely agree. However, I believe winning is fun and losing is for losers. Ergo, we will strive for the “W” in each game. While we may not win every game (excuse me, I just got a little nauseated) I expect us to fight for every loose ball and play every shift as if it were the finals of the World Cup. While I spent a good Saturday morning listening to the legal liability BS, which included a 30 minute dissertation on how we need to baby the kids and especially the refs, I was disgusted. The kids will run, they will fall, get bumps, bruises and even bleed a little. Big deal, it’s good for them (but I do hope the other team is the one bleeding). If the refs can’t handle a little criticism, then they should turn in their whistle. The sooner they figure out how to make a decision and live with the consequences the better. My heckling of the refs is actually helping them develop as people. The political correctness police are not welcome on my sidelines. America’s youth is becoming fat, lazy and non-competitive because competition is viewed as “bad”. I argue that competition is good and is important to the evolution of our species and our survival in what has become an increasingly competitive global economy and dangerous world. Second place trophies are nothing to be proud of as they serve only as a reminder that you missed your goal; their only useful purpose is as an inspiration to do that next set of reps. Do you go to a job interview and not care about winning? Don’t animals eat what they kill (and yes, someone actually kills the meat we eat too – it isn’t grown in plastic wrap)? And speaking of meat, I expect that the ladies be put on a diet of fish, undercooked red meat and lots of veggies. No junk food. Protein shakes are encouraged, and while blood doping and HGH use is frowned upon, there is no testing policy. And at the risk of stating the obvious, blue slushies are for winners.
These are my views and not necessarily the views of the league (but they should be). I recognize that my school of thought may be an ideological shift from conventional norms. But it is imperative that we all fight the good fight, get involved now and resist the urge to become sweat-xedo-wearing yuppies who sit on the sidelines in their LL Bean chairs sipping mocha-latte-half-caf-chinos while discussing reality TV and home decorating with other feeble-minded folks. I want to hear cheering, I want to hear encouragement, I want to get the team pumped up at each and every game and know they are playing for something.
Lastly, we are all cognizant of the soft bigotry that expects women and especially little girls, to be dainty and submissive; I wholeheartedly reject such drivel. My overarching goal is develop ladies who are confident and fearless, who will stand up for their beliefs and challenge the status quo. Girls who will kick ass and take names on the field, off the field and throughout their lives. I want these girls to be winners in the game of life. Who’s with me?
