: To Serve Long Pig: An RPPR Anecdote
: Setherick March 03, 2010, 09:01:50 PM
A few years ago during the Masks of Nyarlathotep campaign, the RPPR crew had finally made its way to Shanghai. As what always happened, the group immediately split up and did separate things. The crazy guy who started carrying dynamite with him went to the bar to drink. Tom went to study Aklo and stare at sanity blasting paintings. My character – Orlen Johnson – guarded the floor in the hotel we had rented out.

The rest of the party – Fuzzy Dan, Karee, and Jason included – decided they were going to go out and get information about something. What they wanted information on isn't important. The informant they found, on the other hand, is. The informant was a ghoul. And the ghoul only needed one thing to give up the goods:

Ross: (in his best ghoulish voice) I would do it if you provide me something.

RPPR players: (enthusiastic) What? What? What?

Ross: (ghoulish) Long pig.

I immediately started laughing when Ross said this, but the other players, well.

RPPR players: Huh?

At this point, I scanned the other players and realized they really didn't know what long pig was and started laughing harder. Ross also started laughing. And the rest of the RPPR crew looked at us like we were crazy.

I was in a band called Longpig. We had to change our name because there was a band on the Mission Impossible soundtrack called "The Longpigs."

Before I read the second sentence in your reply, I was ready to ask "The Longpigs"?
