General Chaos / RPPR hackers

Happy Jack's RPG podcast accused RPPR (in jest of course, or was it?) of hacking their website. Season5 ep 9.  I thought it was funny. Makes you wonder just how big Ross Payton's maniacal ego is though.......

My experience with 3.x is limited, but from what I've found in my own play is this: you take penalties for doing something cinematic in combat in 3.X. In 4E every action you take is awesome. As a fighter is 3.x you swing your sword, as a fighter in 4E dance around the battlefield knocking down opponents, calling out the big bad & throw down like a fuckin' hero. Skill challenges are the bomb! This is of course in my limited experience.

Role Playing Public Radio Podcast / Re: 4e combat speed

I double the damage from the monsters & cut their HP in half. this makes for quick & dangerous combats. I also like to use "moving combats". The combat moves from one scene to another without pause. The PCs fight their way out of town, past enemies, through the dock, take over a ship & launch it. This makes it so they don't have to take their opponents to 0 HP, just enough to get by them. It also provides opportunities for skill challenges.

Role Playing Public Radio Podcast / Re: 4e Skill Challenge question

Most of the skill challenges I run don't happen in combat, but I have had a few, picking a lock, climbing to a hard to reach vantage point, reloading a cannon they've never used before. As far as actions, I Play it by ear. For the lock picking I let him use 3 minor actions in a turn. Granted if he left his task he'd have to start over. For the climbing I let him use 2 move actions per turn & the cannon was standard actions since they've never used one before.

The Order66 podcast is actually out of Dallas, TX. It's a podcast dedicated to the Star Wars Sega edition. It's entertaining, I guess. The best episodes are the ones with Sam Witwer on them. He's pretty funny.
