I say the best way to use their forums is to complain about the annoying characters in their D&D New World campaign, like the rogue, the wizard, the sorcerer, the barbarian, and the fighter.   ;D

If you are still drawing from American history as an influence, I suggest that writing an arc based on the Civil War might prove interesting. Considering first and foremost that this is fantasy, you could force players to face the question of slavery directly and dynamically; in RPPR's actual play, although the topic has been addressed lightly in the past, it has always been the business of private enterprises and the colony as a whole does not seem to have an official standing (unless I missed something, i.e.).

The supplement could very well play into separating the party into sides as a specific mechanic. Whatever the case, you have the ethical argument and politics as RP fodder and, on the other hand, the war itself as the stage for encounters.

Just a thought, anyway.

I don't think we're hipster enough for a lot of things. That's why we spend our Sundays playing DnD and recording our games. ;D

But seriously: if playing in a world where just hanging out with other ninjas will teach you telepathy is wrong, I don't want to be right.

I'm still stuck on the fact that there was a gay adventurer making moves on Locke. You can't write this stuff.

Certainly, the side quest concept was very novel. It makes attendance more flexible, which is always a big issue when a large group of gamers is taking on a long campaign. To players very attached to their characters, I can see how it would be a more attractive option than playing alternate campaigns/games.

I did indeed post to the rpgpodcasters group as well.  Thanks for the quick and very thorough reply.  I have a lot of homework now!

Without further ado, the NerdBound podcast currently features actual play of mostly my group's D&D New World Campaign (thanks to the RPPR crew), but several other games will follow.  I definitely want to have some diversity.  Some of the members are also interested in RPG commentary or reviews as well.  Thoughts?

Hello, all. In addition to being a big fan of the RPPR podcast (and Cody's escapades), I'm also a member of Neil's gaming group. I'm the fellow penning the entries for each episode at the website and, if you listen to our misadventures through the New World, I'm the one playing the prissy cleric ...

It's good to know the community is as receptive and helpful to new groups. Who would have thought people like us would be producing the second coming of radio drama for the new generation?
