Heya!

I just pledged, told friends to pledge and posted about it on the Yog-Sothoth Radio forums and several others...

If this really goes wild, had you guys considered pledge level for an actual print version (softcover) just for the Kickstarter side of things?

Role Playing Public Radio Podcast / Re: Why I Love Tom Church
« on: November 11, 2011, 02:30:41 AM »
Then according to Ross he'll have to be a human, because man is the worst monster of all...

I actually probably won't make Tom Church my Skyrim dood. But I still love the big lug.

And I don't believe recent allegations of his cheating. :D

Allegations of cheating? Whatwhatwhat??? Who allegated?

Also, I am fairly sure that 'allegated' is not a word.

Some advice from some obviously Delta Green lovin' people:

Where would be good to post the details of and and a link to the Kickstarter for Arc Dream Publishing's Delta Green novel 'Through A Glass Darkly', by Dennis Detwiller? Or is it OK to do so here at all?

I've read some snippets they've released, and I have to admit the selfish desire to hold one of these books in my hand. However, I don't want to cause bad feelings or a 'dueling authors' situation. Or it just might be super tacky, I don't know the etiquette with stuff like this.

Anybody know if it's cool, and if so, in which section of the forums?

I can't decide if I'm inspired or incredibly depressed by this.

Can't it be both??

I'm inspired to try and make a module half as cool as this, and depressed because I know I won't be able to.

well my character was an expert in epidemics and so forth. I reasoned that he would be the most paranoid about quarantining any potential infectious agents. Given the evidence we had seen at the green box, I was already sure we were dealing with some kind of infection/parasite/possession. When the NPC friendly peeled out on a truck, I knew he had to be infected and was trying to flee us. Thus we would have to contain him.

Ok...That makes more sense now!

Also, I used to only GM, and when I finally played a PC it was hard for me to give up the level of control I had before, so I used to try to pressure the PCs around me to do the 'smart' thing as per the system I knew so well (much to their annoyance). I thought there might be an element of that that here...But happily not! :-)

And don't worry! Even though Caleb runs games that disturb me and gross me out to the point of nightmares, you are stil my lil' guy! *RUFFLES HAIR IN A PLAYFUL MANNER*

well in this scenario we did have headsets to communicate with one another so it wasn't technically metagaming. :|

Ah! That's right, I had forgotten about those...

Wasn't the doctor a mostly non-field agent, or did I have that wrong? Because usually headsets don't grant you skills in tactics and leadership...Unless they were +2 headsets!

I know I love me some +2 headsets...;-)

Just got to the end of the AP...This one will be squirming around in my head (like those 'bone-dicks' in the story *SHUDDER*) for quite some time! Congrats on another RPPR classic!

Cot DAMN this Delta Green game is awesome.

I'm in complete agreement...Caleb manages to keep things moving along at a comparatively fast pace, make things super creepy, spring surprises, AND keep from yelling at Ross' metagaminess (real word?) and tendency to tell other players what to do with their characters even when his isn't present.

Patience of a fucking SAINT, I tell you! *GRIN*

I posted a playtest of my Wild Talents scenario on the AP podcast but I wouldn't worry about getting spoiled. It's a sandbox scenario where things can turn out very differently depending on the choices you make soooo yeah

plus jason is a dick

Sllllowwwwly downloading it right now!

Unfortunately, I didn't get into that game, so it may be my only exposure...:-(

By the way, have you figured out the where/when/what of the RPPR game you mentioned running on Thursday?

Ugh...I was using someone's laptop to submit my wishlist, only to find out it would not submit on that computer! I switched to another one, only for it to be too late for most of the Call of Cthulhu and 40K RPGs...Shit.

However, I DID get the following:

RPG1123562 - The Dangers of Fraternization on Fri at 10:00 AM (Caleb's game)

RPG1123582 - eCollapse: Save Your Own Hyde on Sat at 12:00 PM (both my girlfriend and I snagged that one)

RPG1119290 - Fredric Wertham's Revenge: Doc Savage and the Shadow's Sunlight on Fri at 09:00 PM (at least I got ONE CoC game)

RPG1123887 - CASE GOBLIN WILLOW (The Laundry (BRP), 1st Edition) Thu at 12:00 PM (possibly, thinking about trying generics for Road Trip_

RPG1124191 - Drunken D&D - Casino Knights on Sat at 06:00 PM (anyone here done this before?)

And that's about it...Any more will have to depend on the kindness (and laziness) of strangers...

PS - Now that I don't have the game I was trying for Thursday night, I might be able to make the RPPR fan meetup! When and where?

Last year we did it more like six or seven and then we all got food before the game. I figured it'd be similar this year.

Dammit! I'll be doing a 7-Midnight game on Thursday! :-(

Assuming that one doesn't slip away from me during registration.

In any case, I'm going to try to get into an RPPR Alumni game or two. I will be the bouncer looking guy who is NOT a spontaneous masturbator.

Er, I mean...whose CHARACTER is not a spontaneous masturbator.

For those interested, it looks like I'll be running two sessions of a A Dirty World at Gencon: Friday and Saturday at 10:00 am (all times tentative).  I'd love to play with some of the folks I've only ever encountered on the forums, so come on by and help me earn some Arc Dream booth credit!

Here's the description that will be in the catalogue.

The Dangers of Fraternization
Berlin, 1946. The once mighty city lies in ruins, controlled jointly
by powers that are Allies in name only. Identical mother-infant
murders take place on either side of the Russian-American border, and
now a third newborn has gone missing. Soviet NKVD and the U.S. Army
military police launch a joint effort to find the killer, centered
around a burlesque club that’s a hot spot for the resurgent German
underworld. In danger of losing their investment, the crime bosses of
Berlin suddenly find themselves as eager to find the murderer as their
occupiers. Can this hasty alliance find justice, or will it implode
under the weight of national intrigue, old grudges and human greed?

Interested! Now we'll see if I can wade through the unwashed hordes to get a ticket on Sunday!!

BTW: 'Bryson Springs' is one of the few CoC APs (out of the many I have listened to) that actually freaked me out a bit. Bravo!

Everybody got their wish-lists made?

And yes, I'm peeing my pants because it'll be my first time.

@HPLustcraft Super Welcome to the forums and wot knot.

Yep! Got my wishlist mostly done...One thing I'd like to know, though:

Are any RPPR people other than Ross going to be running games there? If so, who and what?

Don't pee your pants! Unless you are into that, then pee away!

It's my second Gen Con, and first time with the S.O...So it'll be weird to have definitive proof that there ARE cool female gamers!

Hey all,

Longtime RPPR listener, but newbie to the forums here...

The lil' lady and I will be at the SpringHill Suites...Can't beat free breakfast, free internet, large rooms, reasonable rates and being right next door to the new JW Marriott where they will be running a lot of games this year...

The main disadvantage: The sweaty-ass walk to the main Con floor and just about any game NOT held in the JW Marriott. I'll be showering twice a day, bringing 3 extra sticks of deodorant and perhaps a 'cologne squirt gun' to help offset that...
