RPGs / Dnd 3.5 penalty for dying
« on: October 13, 2013, 01:49:54 AM »
So my DM just instituted a new rule to dying where if you die and make a new character you a level below the rest of the party with half the experience needed to level up. I think it's the worst idea imaginable by making you play catch up for bad dice rolls or luck, I wanted to know other peoples opinions on the matter.

General Chaos / Re: What Vidja games are you playing?

I just picked up ghost recon future solider. If you are a gun nut you'll love this game with the gunsmith system. You can customize weapons down to the gas systems and trigger it's fun just playing around with that. The gameplay is more action oriented but it's still a very tactical game requiring stealth and precision for the campaign and tactics and coordiation of teammates on multiplayer. About half way through the campaign and played 5 matches online and so far id give it a 8/10-9/10 if you enjoy shooters or the series in general.

Is there a reason it isn't on iTunes nor the latest actual play?

I really enjoyed the podcast. I liked how you guys went though the history of the game and all of the different books, I actually picked up some of the books now and will be running a one shot for my group soon. Could you guys do more episodes on specific systems?

RPGs / Re: Boxing/MMA RPG?

I agree with grappling rules being to complex and/or being hard to understand. But the system I would have would almost be like a stamina gauge in a videogame where if ur holding onto the guy tryin to take him down for 30 seconds or a minute and don't get it he's gonna be able to do whatever he wants to you until you rest. with the way I'm thinking of it your going to have a few different types of grappling one would be for taking someone to the ground, where you would have simple tackles, slams, trips, and judo throws for example. Than when you were on the ground it would be a different system you ere using instead if the guy on the bottom just defending against your grapple he would try to counter it with a submission or (if they have enough skill) sweep them you would have other options as well depending on on your style (class), size and gym.
