General Chaos / The tea party of the orcs. Say whaaaa?
« on: June 04, 2015, 01:36:18 PM »
So! While I was listening to one the latest RPPR's, Ross mentioned a tea party with orcs. I made that into a thing.

I thought about how orcs would have a tea party.
Then I remembered something Alex from the Rag-nerd-rok podcast came up with. A necrofancer.

Yes that's right. A necrofancer. Someone who uses death magic to make things fancy. And fancy up the dead.

Basically the two correlate by the necrofancer I came up with testing his magic on all sorts of beings and the players (after meeting this necrofancer and having to leave town by having a necro-dance off) come across orcs having a tea party. They rolled too well in FATE accelerated and moved up the time table. So the players encountered said necrofancer. Unfortunately I pulled my horrible monster move and he snuck away with an impossibly high check. Anyways. The players had to leave town by having a necro dance off. There was much hilarity at this point. Ross sent me a quick video of these bordering countries having to dance(basically) to even get across. I thought, oh neat! So the curse he put on the town for this to happen was this: if the towns citizens didn't act like proper folk, they would immediately turn undead and start dancing with whomever was closest. It is impolite to turn down a dance, so this led to a lot of the towns people being turned into the dancing undead.  To explain this to the players I let them have a notice put up by said necrofancer.
So after pulling thriller, and some other necro-inspired dance moves, the players escaped town. Oh boy.
They travelled a good while before they came across the tea party of orcs. The players noticed a little creature in a dusty and torn apart yet, somewhat fancy suit running down a hill with a serving tray. I figured the goblins of this area had to be subservient to the orcs. This turned out great, because the goblins were the orcs servers. They all wore suits the lady goblins all had stuffed teddys. Some of this teddys had actual human eyeballs, but it was the best they could do, after being cursed by a necrofancer to be fancy. After much debate, this was probably a bad idea to let them see the necrofancer in the first place but it worked out.

Next on their agenda is Ross' idea of a trap that infinitely spawns treasure or trouble. I can't wait for it.

I was laughing so hard for some reason. I feel like just seeing this picture is like that one Month Python gag about the joke killing all the nazis.  What have I gotten myself into?

I posted this on Facebook, but I think that we as listeners are the real monsters. Think about it. We laugh and laugh at all the shenanigans they do when they torture one another. The best example was RPPR after hours(which I want to change to The MindFlaying of Caleb) after they tortured the poor dude with talk of...well. No spoilers for those not on Patreon(JOIN ROSS' PATREON), but needless to say, poor Caleb. I laughed and laughed. Almost into tears. That's where my point lies. We are indeed the monsters. Ross is as well, that much is true, but so are we, if not more because we listen to hear such torture and do nothing.

So, with the super sale of steam going this weekend  I'm going to pick up payday 2 (finally) and get the hotline miami dlc. Anyone want to run a heist or two? Keep in mind I've never played. :P

Indeed I have. About to upgrade to the top tier to get the extra print book, so my group will have two. Like I said, I'll read whatever. Give me work. You guys do so much to entertain, I feel like giving back a little bit more than monetarily, you know?

General Chaos / Re: What Vidja games are you playing?
« on: October 10, 2014, 09:02:35 PM »
Currently playing thru borderlands 2 for my bazillionth play thru. I always thought the game was super eclipse phase-y in that you don't really die, you just kind of pay to come back.
Also playing thru Pokemon y. I've notice its a lot more messed up than I remember. The entry for haunter goes something like this: "if you feel like you are being watched, its probably haunter" creeper much?
Also going through Mario kart 8, crysis 3, and a little diddy called I want to be the boshy. Needless to say that last one is of itself from carcosa. Look up a video. Looking to get payday 2 when the hotline Miami dlc drops. anyone going to be running missions?

So, the game designers workshop interview got me thinking (smoke is bellowing out of my ears for this one), and I thought I might post here to see if maybe Ross or Caleb wouldn't mind volunteer work for them. Proofreading, suggestions, and what not. Ross mentioned wanting to become a publisher, possibly. Sounds like a job for the RPPR fan base to do some work for our overlords. I'm just saying. I wouldn't mind. What about you guys?

Hello folks. This would be my first foray into the forums of anything, ever, so that's fun. I really don't know what to say, so I guess I'll go into a bit about me?
I've been around gaming, most of my life, my dad was a 1st ed dnd DM for as long as I could recall. Uh let's see. I probably got into it, 5 years ago? I started with Star Wars d20. Since then I've been part of my dads group, which has changed to include my great uncle, a buddy we met at a local con, and we just lost someone to a move. My first game I ran as a gm was savage worlds, in which I butchered the hell out of the initiative because I was lazy. Then I got comfy with that, ran a few games. Then I discovered my love for Cthulhu gaming wise. Who isn't a fan of lovecraft? I'm not wholly experienced as much as the rest of my group in terms of being a gm, but I've got tons of ideas and now the time to write them all down and horrify the group. Going to try base raiders next. Good luck me? I'll try and start posting some of my more successful one shots as scenarios for you guys to use. Anyways, now that's over with, what's next?

My name is Josh. Not Steve. Definitely not Steve Carlsberg.

I started listening to RPPR probably 3 years ago and have listened to everything at least once. I keep a steady stream of campaigns on my phone as, at my job, I listen to music and what not all night. So you guys have been filling my ear holes with this amazingness for a good while now. Thank you to everyone who is a part of this thing. It truly has been some of the best laughs I've ever had, and I'll continue to be an willing guinea pig for whatever Ross cooks up, I'll fall into the hands of whatever deathtrap Caleb sets down, I will even play victim to whatever Aaron lures us into, and I'll run screaming from whatever monster Tom throws at us like a kindergarden food fight, with a smile on my face. Or not. You guys are the best. Or maybe the worst. Not sure. Probably both. :D

What's up with this jerk?  I say we make death threats....

(JK, saw your FB post, so had to poke some fun)

Welcome!  Hope you enjoy your stay!

See? This is the kind of abuse I wanted to avoid.
Thanks! As long as Ross keeps his death gazes away from me, I think I'll be ok. Hopefully.
