No, no they will not.

Na he clearly has no problems shooting some thing if its scary, he shot at the sewer monster, and he shot the guy with the body just fine. granted he missed but still shot.

But deep down inside, he didn't want to shoot him.

RPGs / Re: Play by post question

Honestly, 4th Ed relies so much on the grid that I think that playing it with play by post would take the fun and/or strategy out of combat.

I just kept imagining Ross as near feral while Aaron consorts with murderers and gives them his real name and what not. You know, I imagine that if Aaron where to meet the Great Cthulhu himself he would hug the tentacled monstrosity and promise it no harm.

So, Ross, once this is up and running how will it work? You talked about it in the the first post but are the aps going to be be managed for quality/content through the community or by moderators or by something else?

I honestly believe that this is a really cool idea. RPPR could become the nexus of all things actual play if this venture is successful.

I've only enabled Tad and Mckma to post on the main site - you and judson arent showing in the list of users for the main site.

Hm. I wonder why.

Man, I wish I knew more about wordpress. My knowledge extends as far as my school's online newspaper.

Do any of you know how powerpress works? It should be listed as 'Add New Podcast Episode'

use an existing RPPR episode to test it like http://www.slangdesign.com/rppr/RPPR-My-Immortal.mp3

Don't worry about uploading episodes to the site through the wordpress interface - that won't work. I'll have to manually FTP the files.

click the verify button to have it autofill the duration and file size

I don't know what this means, but I was dicking around in wordpress and managed to get this. (I apologize for the size)

I was able to get it to play in the preview mode. I don't know if this is helpful at all. If it's not I'm sorry for wasting your time.

RPGs / Re: Suggestions for a 1 on 1 game.
« on: January 23, 2010, 11:54:19 PM »
Hmm, a post-apocalyptic thing sounds interesting. Maybe run it in the CoC system? Provides plenty of scary situations along with a  more story based setting... Ideas are flooding! Now, one more question. I want to run a D&D fantasy game. The D&D world gives a brighter feel often, and alot of the suggestions are fairly dark. So what do you guys think? D20 is tough to run one on one, but I think with a  bit of help from yall I could make it happen. So, have at it!

I don't pretend to be a master of rpgs but D20 rules are usually written with groups of players in mind. I think that if you plan to do 1 player combat you're going to have to do some modification, like less challenging monsters.

RPGs / Re: Iron Heroes
« on: January 20, 2010, 04:24:33 PM »
There's still magic in Iron Heroes, but it's like Conan - magic is for monsters and NPC wizards who scare the shit out of you even if they're allies.

It would take very little work to do a new world iron heroes game. There's actually nothing in either new world supplement that would be changed by the Iron Heroes rules. The colony is based on slave and peasant labor - all powerful spellcasters are NPCs who are behind the scenes types and the goblin hulk still works - just make it even more dangerous and corrupt.

The colonists don't rely on magic.
The grippli don't rely on magic.
The natives use magic but they can get by without a lot of it.

Read Conan stories like Red Nails and go from there.

Thanks Ross.

RPGs / Re: Gamming Recommendation
« on: January 20, 2010, 04:18:05 PM »
So for the past year During our 1 hour lunch breaks My friends and I (me?) get some gamming in. We are getting Bored of 3.5 and you can't do Coc in the environment. We play in. Any good rpgs that can be played in 45 minute segments and don’t need a serious environment.

There's all those free games like Wushu. I think they're pretty fast to play.

Except, its not japanese, being made by an american country based on japanese culture, and I wasn't joking. The game looks fun and interesting. Your a schoolgirl who can blow stuff up and kill shit with her mind. At least I didn't post the adorible high school romance rpg I found, that has to be unconfortable to play with a group of guys...

Doesn't matter if its made by Americans it's still the Japs, corrupting our minds and culture.
