I totally agree, this is a great film because of the kids, not the monster. I was totally into the monster story, but I was way more into the relationships between the guys as friends and budding love story between the lead boy and girl characters.

And yes, this was JJ’s love story to Steven Spielberg and is wealth of 80′s movies. I loved it on that level too.

Good flick.

Role Playing Public Radio Podcast / Re: Where do you listen to RPPR?

My new job has me driving from Shawnee, KS (west side of the Kansas City metro), to Topeka on highway I-70. It's a 50 minute drive, one way. I gets me some RPPR on the road.

Holy shit! I love the opening for this game. I so want to play, but a 6pm start time is too early for me.

Sethrick, if you do run a second game, would you consider an 8pm or 8:30pm CST start time? If so, I am in!

I can always send you the game notes too, Jon, if you want to run it. It's really being Alpha-tested tomorrow, so the more times it gets run the better.

I'd love the notes. It sounds like you're going to run this as a Fear Itself game, versus a CoC game. I would like to try and run it as CoC.

I'm already scheduled to playtest an adventure I just finished writing, but after that I'll see if I can round together another group to play this.

General Chaos / Castle Ravenloft - The Boardgame!

Damn! My wife rocks!

9/23 was our 15th anniversary, and she got me Castle Ravenloft as a gift. I've played the solo scenario twice now, and died early both times. The game is super hard, and designed to kill you.

It doesn't hurt the bad-guys that I tend to roll great for them and shit for me.  :D

I have listed to the first have of the new DS campaign, and I love it!

I loved the opening segment with an action scene, and then they broke away to a flashback. Well done Ross.

To be honest, I have a hard time following and enjoying the New World campaign, so I usually just let those go on by, but I am totally hooked into the new Dark Sun.

Also, Ross, every time Tom bitches at you, send more undead his way!!!  :D

Holy crap, Jon found the time to play a game in RL? Sweet.

It's a shocker, I know. :D

Yeah, as far as I know Ross is the only one with server access to move it to the proper server...

Cool.

I have uploaded "The_Faculty_Party.mp3".

So, after it's loaded, then I go to the site and create a post for it? Or do I need to do it now?

Once you've uploaded your file, you have to wait for Ross to move it over to the right directory on the slangdesign site. (Ross is on vacation, though, so unless Mckma or Setherick can do it for you in his absence, you'll have to wait for him to get back.) Then you can go in and create a post for it. It may be a bit confusing your first time, but you basically just paste the file name in the text box where it says Media URL under Podcast Episode and click the button that says "VERIFY." I believe there are helpful screencaps of the process a page or two back.

Correction: Four pages back. (P. 14)

Thanks man. I can't wait to share my game with everyone.

Mckma, I finally figured out what my problem was, and got it corrected.

FileZilla is cranking through the file now to ftp it to RPPR.

Thanks man!

Ross, can you make me an author?

My username is: jonhook

I just recorded a game of CoC last night, and I'm ready to post it.

Awesome. I just registered my account. I also just bought my digital recorder today. I hope to start recording games that I can then upload to the community site.

Ross, you rock!  ;D
