Congratulations!!!!   ;D ;D ;D

I like the idea of us declaring what roles we'd like to fill on the team.

I'd like to be the cypher. I'll know languages and codes. I'm also pretty good with a gun.  ;)

General Chaos / Re: man you guys suck at remembering passwords
« on: June 07, 2010, 12:14:33 AM »
I tried logging into RPPR from another computer, and I was banging my head against the wall every time the firewall said I was using the wrong password. I only have two or three passwords that I use in a couple of different version each, so I was sure I had to have had the right one used.

I still don't know what my RPPR password is. I just went back to my regular computer to log into the site.

Play by Post / Re: Published Scenarios?
« on: June 04, 2010, 11:30:14 PM »
I believe this has been asked before, and there is no issue with it. You may play published scenarios if you want to. You only risk that your players may have read or have access to the same publication.

I too have a copy of SW:EE, and I'm looking to use it.

Count me in. I vote that we be part of an organized team, Mission: Impossible or Man From U.N.C.L.E. type of thing. Or, if this has a more humorous slant, maybe we're from C.O.N.T.R.O.L., (a la "Get Smart")?

General Chaos / Warhammer: Invasion, the "living" card game
« on: May 21, 2010, 11:34:23 PM »
Anyone a fan? I love this game! I got so burned out on Magic. I kept losing to guys who had money to burn, so they could always get the super-rare, super-expensive cards. Warhammer: Invasion, (WH:I), is a card game without the collectability factor included, so all players are on the same level playing field. It's great!

If you haven't tried it, I encourage you to give it a shot.

I have the core game that comes with decks for four of the races, (Dwarf, Empire, Chaos, and Orc), and I've also bought the elf expansion, so I now have the High Elves and the Dark Elves too. I'm going to run a small round-robin tournament of WH:I at the KantCon convention in Kansas City on Saturday July 10th. If you're in the area, please come down and play. I think you're gonna like it.

General Chaos / Ronnie James Dio - RIP
« on: May 16, 2010, 09:23:54 PM »
Ronnie James Dio passed today, Sunday, May 16th. He was 67 years old.

Heavy metal music was a huge influence on me when I was growing up, and Dio was one of the most influential musicians in my life. As soon as I read about his death on Yahoo, I hit iTunes and downloaded several more of his songs that I hadn't made the time to get yet. I'm planning on getting into my way-back machine tonight, become 16 years old again, and veg-out to everything Dio tonight.

I'm not sure if anyone knows this or not, but if you go to a heavy metal concert and you see everyone doing the "devil horns" hand gesture... well, RJD is responsible for making that popular at rock concerts. So everyone "throw the goat" in tribute to rock legend, Ronnie James Dio!

I wish I could travel the stars.

Granted! Unfortunately, you do so in an urn after you're dead and cremated. Say "Hi" to Gene Roddenberry.

I wish Ross & Tom were my friends.

General Chaos / KantCon in Kansas City July 9th, 10th, & 11th
« on: May 03, 2010, 11:52:18 PM »
Hey guys, there is a small gaming con coming up in Kansas City soon, KantCon. Check it out at www.KantCon.com.

So far I'm just planning on going on Saturday the 10th. Each day has three organized gaming time slots. During Slot 2 I'm running/teaching folks to play the board game Age of Conan. During Slot 3 I'm running the Trail of Cthulhu adventure, "The Murderer of Thomas Fell". I ordered a copy of the card game Warhammer: Invasion, so I'm thinking about running/teaching that game during Slot 1. If not, then I'll find a game to play during Slot 1.

If anyone is interested in playing, come on down to KC and game with me.

Hmm... it's busy. Not a fan, but that's ok, I spend more time in the forums than on the front page of the site.

RPGs / Re: Help me wean my group off 3.x DnD
« on: April 27, 2010, 10:57:13 AM »
I am a HUGE Call of Cthulhu fan, so if you want to try something in a horror venue, please give it a try. CoC is a d100 system built on the premiss that your characters are equipped with a host of skills. The more characters you have with a variety of skills, the more apt your group will be to combat the evils.

If your group is interested in trying out some interesting rule sets, you might want to try Trail of Cthulhu. ToC uses the Gumshoe system. Your character's skill have a pool of points you can spend to get bonuses to your rolls. Also, in the Gumshoe system, your characters are almost guaranteed to find and collect the clues they need to solve the mystery. It's just how you use those clues that can make or break the game.

Pelgrane Press has several horror-based games that use the Gumshoe system, so you have a lot of choice if you guys want to check out a horror game. I know Ross is familiar with these games, since several of his actual plays are in these different systems. I only have ToC from Pelgrane, so if you have any questions about any of their other games I'm sure Ross should be able to chime in.

General Chaos / Re: So... Kick Ass?
« on: April 27, 2010, 10:32:05 AM »
So watching philly d on you tube, and the 19 year old kid that played kick ass, knocked up a 43 year old chick and is gonna Mary her, she has a daughter that's 14.

Hilarious. What a douche.

The movie was ok. Would've been better as a rental. I like the comic better.
