General Chaos / Re: Tell me, have you seen this Yellow Sign?
« on: May 11, 2016, 12:16:15 AM »
You likely know this by this point, but this looks (haven't dug for pics) to be the Yellow Sign as rendered on the cover of the first edition print by F. Tennyson Neely - the 'sign' in question actually being the initials FTN - now that I look at it, it certainly could be those letters in a stylized script.

I am waiting - with bated breath - for the new edition to fulfill on the Kickstarter. Apparently it's getting close. I love the concept of Paranoia so much, but the last edition I found mentally painful to try to understand.

Meanwhile, my love for random, card-based character generation is well established. Believe you me I'll be running it once I get that sweet, sweet official forms pack into my hands.

It is usually Aaron who sings if anyone sings during a game.

*Harumph*

Guess that's the thanks I get for trying to be at all subtle...
(Kidding, really, know it's not me in this context and Aaron is in significantly more APs than me, but to the extent that I have a thing that's my thing and he can have it only over my cooling corpse)

In the words of Frank Underwood, it's all going according to my plan.

First the cats, then the world!

NB the author? I get that this isn't out yet, and Nov is a while off, but how have I not heard about this yet? Have the promos on KARTAS been behind fnord-walls?

I got a frozen whole turkey on sale after Thanksgiving. I'm gonna save it until Christmas, and then spatchcock that sucker.

Do it! I cooked a 14 pound turkey in less than an hour and a half that way. Ended up using Alton Brown's wet brine treatment due to time constraints, but would love to try his dry brine sometime.

Bee tee dubs, if you haven't do it before: when it comes to cutting out the spine, use heavy scissors or shears. It's some heavy work. Nothing like how that video portrays it.

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth dropped yesterday. The original is one of the few games I have triple digit hours sunk into. $10 early Christmas present for me!

This particular Patton Oswalt bit is more or less the origin of the 'chloroform rag' line:

Less, not more. Had not previously seen this Patton Oswalt bit, but I've been hearing the phrase since 2004 or so.

It's supposed to be a 'humorously' creepy pick-up line.

That's an idea for a PC with Edited Memories.   Many the things you did as a child were actually fake memories implanted to guilt you into behaving well by your parents.  That time you almost got hit by a hover truck because you didn't look both ways?  NOT REAL.

Hm... Eclipse Phase/Arrested Development mashup? "And that's why you always leave a note!"

Some children are raised as flats and are put in different bodies later.

Some children are born as flats and remain flats.

Some children are given cortical stacks and mesh inserts from "birth."

Some children (like the lost generation) are raised in a time-accelerated simulspace that causes all of them to go crazy and become psychopathic killers.

Different planets and different habs have different ideas on conception, child-rearing, and the introduction of cyberware.

Holy crap, I still lurk these boards!

...It's Bill. Y'know, occasional RPPR guy, arguer with Mike?

Anyway, this: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pixelscopic/delvers-drop

Springfield-based game designers. The art guy/partner is a good friend of mine. I've played a super-early version of the game, and it's pretty cool. If you've sunk any hours into The Binding of Isaac, you'd like it. Give them money!

I live!

Also, words cannot explain how much I'd love to play in this. Unfortunately, I have a class on Wednesday night. Damn you, responsibility!
