You can let a player control both the kid and monster. Whatever works best for your group. I've done it both ways and they're both viable.
yeah but just having them play kids is a stretch for my group. they see role playing not as you playing the role of someone else but more of a "what would I do" in this scenario. in some cases its okay, but if your playing a samurai who runs from a fight I immediately have an axe to grind. god damn "Jessica" players.

yeah its that one. Dave Noonen was pretty chill and knew what he was talking about when it came to D&D.

the D&D podcast in the zune network. god I hate that fucking show. they post once every three weeks and they're only 40 min long.
either way RPPR beat out the Order 66 podcast, Dragons Landing, and D6 generation(mainly a board game podcast that covers RPG sometimes.) we just got one last golem to slay and thats D&D.

I know Im alittle late to the info drop but like me there may be a few people who havent heard, vin diesel LOVES his D&D and is actually fairly compitant. you can see him get misty eyed in one Interview.

« on: April 27, 2009, 11:13:39 PM »I enjoy the social aspect too. How many people can say that they have three, four, or five people who they spend several hours with a week in a face-to-face environment.
I'm one of the only people in my office who has friends that I see for long periods of time, nearly every week.
yeah everyone says they want to do that but not to many people make the effort.

well Im not gonna lie about it. I game to get away for a bit, to escape reality. I have a very stressfull job that doesn't meet its pay, a wife, and son who has entered his "terrible twos". its nice to have one day a week to hang with my friends from college and kill some zombies for a couple of hours. it allows me to keep my sanity.
Im also a curious guy, I'll watch a movie where the protagainst does some really cheesey heroic thing and I think to myself "what would my group do if I placed them in that same scenario?" then I set out to find out.
but I've also been gaming since I was seven, with D&D advanced(I'm 23 now). so its also more about something Ive done since I was little, something that has actually become a part of who I am as a person. If someone were to ask me to give it up I dont think I could. Its hard to give something up you've been doing for 16 years.
