I have tried the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but I just can't get into it in the long run. I tried again recently, but it's just so stiff and soulless. I do like the concept and the initial hook, but I just get bored with it an hour or so in. Is the sequel better? Might give it another go.

Open-world Metro would be great, but hard to pull off, considering the paranoia between stations (considering many of them are on the brink of war and the trading stations are extremely strict regarding who they let in) and screenings you have to go through to enter. It could work, but they'd have to go with an original story, and not Artiom's depressing tale.

Agreed on Metro: Last Light. I enjoy it, but it's a bit too linear and modern-FPS-esque to be a great game. Some parts are just shooting galleries. Probably right on needing previous knowledge as well. I don't remember Khan being in the first game (been a year or two since I played it last), but maybe he is. His mysteriousness and most of his gibberish only makes sense people who have read the book, imo.

Sick, 80k exactly. Congrats, Caleb! Can't wait too see what you unleash on us.

Saw Caleb Stokes and instantly upped my pledge. I really hope you'll reach 80k.

Nice, the Dollar has dropped (or already was low) so I'll pop $90.

Loved Caleb's name-drop of Hellstar Remina. It really is similar to DS3 in a lot of ways. Fucking insane manga.

Picked up Mars: War Logs on Steam. Bland name aside, this is a gem of an RPG. Despite some wonky combat at times, I greatly recommend it.

Fuck yes, Zach Braff is making a film (almost funded, but figured I'd give a heads-up): http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1869987317/wish-i-was-here-1

New Divinity looks great, with a cool co-op mechanic in conversations with NPCs: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/larianstudios/divinity-original-sin

Chasm looks to be a wonderful 2D RPG Platformer, and needs your monies: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/discordgames/chasm

Yuss, more of Killzone's happy murdered family past. I can't fathom why it isn't used more in the game (both space-bros seeing different horrors), as it's make it a good blend of the generic money-making shooter EA wants it to be and a genuinely frightening horror story that the fans want.

Also, I'd love to see the RPPR crew tackle Trine and its sequel.. It's incredibly fun to play with mates.

From the reviews and gameplay footage I've seen, Defiance looks quite shit.

Recently returned to my Blood Bowl campaign. God damn Chaos Dwarfs.

Is Iron Heroes next up after Know Evil? I loved the two episodes we got for supporting Base Raiders.
Caleb: "Get in the fucking door, Aaron." With Jason's euphoric "Yes" when I assume Aaron horribly failed a roll previously, that was one of the funniest moments I've ever heard.
5hd in Weapon (Rake)

Sad to hear the game went sour, Tad. Sounded like a fun campaign, otherwise. Planning to run some Wild Talents for my own group as my next campaign.

It depends on how the campaign was conceptualised. Is it a straight-up go from A to B and kick evil in the face, or something else?

As far as interaction with NPCs, I'll usually let dialogue go until information needs to be extracted, where the dice rolling comes in play. I tend to reward good role-playing with information or bonuses on rolls. I generally keep the dice rolling to a minimum, and let the players inquire about making rolls (roll Persuade to be let inside the club, roll Insight to see if bouncer is bullshitting you, etc).

Just don't chase the players around all game long from plot point to plot point, unless that's what they want.
