TMayes, I'm always up for a game of Eclipse Phase.

By the by, has anyone got a link to the fan/GenCon GroupMe chats? I just downloaded the app in preparation for the con.
I don't have a way to link to the group me chat from my phone.  (And I had to mute it until GenCon so I can sleep during the day.)

On the subject of Eclipse Phase I have two related scenarios outlined and will have 6-8 pre-gens made on Singularity for them.  If we can get that 6 player threshold I'll happily run either or both of them as time allows.

I posted this on group me, but as Ross pointed out.  It's the middle of the night.  So I'm curious if anyone would be interested in playing in a very late Saturday/ early Sunday Vampire the Masquerade or Eclipse Phase game.  Either would be a homemade scenario.  I'd be looking for like 6+ players.  If not no big deal.  Just thought I'd throw it out there.

I wouldn't normally mention this.  Bard's Tale 2 was the first video game I ever owned back for the Commodore 64.  And now some of the original developers are apparently was

That could either be hilarious or a scene from a darker version of "Silence of the Lambs".  "It puts the lotion on its skin..."

I just had a thought, set the scenario AF5 have the prisoner be the member of the Security Council deposed in the Coup (I think AF3) can't make the guy a martyr by killing him, to many friends to frame & put him on trial.  So he's kept masked sedated and fed intravenously in a max security prison.  Guards and inmates assume he's some super dangerous spy or some such. Revolutionaries want him because he could/does know where some Jovian military assets are, and possibly access codes.  Or is that too over the top?

My plan was a pc deathbot scenario.  I intend making pre-gens for a con scenario/reintroduction for my players.  Something self contained and fairly action orientated.  I find my home group gets bogged down in and intimidated by some of the complexities of EP.  I'm hoping something direct and exciting might be able to get them interested.

I had thought of it as a criminal cartel trying to extract the target for a profit motive.  But a jovian with valuable Intel probably makes more sense.  I kept starting with and then stumbling over the idea of a non-jovian in a junta prison.  Why not just restore him from back up?  What would he have that would be worth the expense of a mercenary raid?   I thought maybe account numbers he got as payment just before arrest.  Maybe the ID of corrupt officials the cartel intends on making use of.  But either way what were they buying/selling to make him worth a possibly very bloody escape?

I thought most of the antagonists would be flat(prison personal/inmates) and remote controlled security drones.

So my basic scenario plan is a group of mercenaries are hired to break into a Jovian Prison and escape with a prisoner.  The basic plan sounds good but I am falling down a bit on why someone would pay your basic EP style dogs of war to do the job.  Suggestions would be welcome.

I just finished "The Light at the End", the Joe Pitt trilogy and I'm listening to "Altered Carbon" right now. (I listen more than I get to read because of work and school.)

Wow.  I was happy just dropping the price from the glut on the marks.  Now I'm embarrassed I didn't think about it a little more.  Both you and Ross make great points.

I thoughtlessly put an adamantine door in a dungeon.  (It was a pathfinder game.)  I probably shouldn't have been surprised but my players almost immediately left the dungeon to get the tools needed to chop the door out of dungeon and transport it to market so to speak.

Unfortunately for them I had two weeks to consider the problem.

First I introduced the idea of overhead.  They had to cut the door up and get it formed into ingots.  Then when they tried to unload the material, they found their profits rapidly declining, due to a glut on the market.  Unfortunately this infuriated at least one of my players who walked out at one point.  He came back for the next session but still I thought I was being reasonable.  He felt I was was just being antagonistic.

I for horror I'd start with Candlecove or the Lover in the Ice.  Sci-fi any EP.

My thought is that the gambling is mostly above board.  At least as above board as Vegas in the 1960's.  I'm thinking that besides smuggling the Night Cartel uses the swarm to launder money and to exchange credits and rep between different Night Cartel crews.  Then when the swarm comes near Luna they send a shuttle out to deposit physical currency.  The swarm's shareholders being the "inner circle" of the Night Cartel.  I could even have the party attempt to avert a major criminal war by thwarting another group's attempt to divert/destroy the lunar deposit.  Or steal the deposit to fund Firewall.

Hmm.  I'll have to look to see if my surface can handle it.  Probably not.  Might have to borrow my fiancée's laptop
