If there's one man I trust to make a fucked up story come to visual reality it's the man who directed Mimic.

Tom Cruise may be an evil scientologist but he can act when he wants to. Collateral is a great fucking movie.

But! There's no beach volleyball anywhere in Mountains of Madness. That's where he does is best work.
Ok yeah Collateral was awesome.

Yeah, Del Toro will do it justice.

He's also making a survival horror game trilogy. inSANE. Lookin' forward to that, too.

Best I can do.

That's basically all the information out there about the game. It'll come out in 2013 (holy crap waiting long much?) so there's like nothing that anyone knows. Except that it's a horror game.

I have a recurring World of Darkness villain inspired by Vincent.

I think that this movie will be fine. Since Guillermo Del Toro's directing, it's going to have Ron Perlman(good). Also, Tom Cruise may be a Scientologist douchebag but (like Ross said) he can act when he wants to. Collateral, Last Samurai, etc...

I think that Del Toro's enough of a fan of Lovecraft to do this story right and give the Old Ones the justice they deserve. I don't see any way that this movie could honestly be -that- bad.

Everything Del Toro's touched I've liked.
Thanos: "I am going to sacrifice the Earth to gain the love of Death"
Me: (slowly raise eyebrow) "Destroy the Earth? That would be...illogical"
Vortex: "Yes...that...would be...highly...illogical."
Thanos: "Your Star Trek references bore me."

Computer generated Shoggoths. That could go very bad.

:) Del Toro doesn't do CGI :)

http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2011/02/07/110207fa_fact_zalewski

This is a long ass article (Goddamn New Yorker), but it's really good and at the end Del Toro goes in to a lot of detail about what his vision is for the monsters in the film.

I also agree Cruise/Scientology/Douche bag/etc., but as long as Del Toro actually directs him, I think it'll be fine.

I am so fucking pumped for this...   ;D

It's funny how some of the actors you love to hate actually do some good work every now and then. I don't like Brad Pitt, even though I love movies like Se7en. I wasn't into Fight Club as much as most, but for both of those movies their success wasn't necessarily from his acting (same director I guess). But the one movie I'll watch him in again and again for was Thirteen Monkeys. Absolutely brilliant.
It's too late to be clever. I'll try being adventurous.

Tom Cruise is my dad's favorite actor. I support the upcoming movie.
Tom Cruise is pretty awesome in a number of movies, plus if the box office draw is large enough maybe we'll see more Lovecraft to HOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTER conversions.

As long as its better than Ironman as Sherlock in the Mummy 5, I'll be happy.

I wish I was Tom.

Granted, you are now Tom.
